In the southwest of Norway, between high mountains and deep fjords, you will find the E39 Byfjord- & Mastrafjord-tunnels. E39 is the European highway between Trondheim city in Norway and Ålborg in Denmark.In 1992 the Byfjordtunnel was the world’s longest under-sea tunnel, 5,875 meters long and lowest point is 223 meters below sea level. The Mastrafjordtunnel is 4,424 meters long 133 meters below sea level.Today, more than 20 years after they first opened, these tunnels have been fully refurbished with new safety equipment.

In the northeast of Stavanger the highway 13 goes along the precipitous shore of lake Tysdalsvatnet. From 2011 to 2013, a 3.5-kilometer long tunnel has been built to protect road users against avalanches. For this project, Systemair has delivered 16 tunnel jet fans, type AJ with 1,120 mm diameter.
