Swimming Carnival Congratulations to all students, staff, parent helpers and to Coomber, Dabee and Lloyd supporters on the success of last Friday’s Swimming Carnival, held at the Kandos Pool. Thank you to the parents who assisted staff and to teacher, Mr Andrew Best for his excellent organisation of our first sporting event of the year. ‘Big Vegie Crunch’ Day - 5/3 The Canteen will be holding a Big Vegie Crunch day on on Thursday, 5th March. There will be a variety of fruit and vegetables on sale on this day. Prices will range from 10 cents to $2.00.

SWIMMING CARNIVAL REPORT Last Friday, 14th February, 100 students from Year 2 through to Year 6 participated in the 2020 Kandos Public School Swimming Carnival. The carnival was held at the Kandos Swimming Pool. Students participated in a variety of 50, 100 and 200 metre races, with the first 2 placegetters qualifying for the Zone Carnival to be held at Gulgong later in the Term. There were also novelty events on the day including the 15 and 33 metre races, where students could earn points for their house. Congratulations to the winning house Coomber, Lloyd who came in second place and Dabee who came in third place. Thank you to all the parents who attended on the day supporting the children and helping with time keeping. All students are to be commended on their participation and support of each other on the day. Our Keys to Success being safe, respectful and on task were followed throughout the day.

For Kindergarten parents only there is a variation to the format for the Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon sessions.

Tuesday, 25th February - A general information session and afternoon tea for all Kindergarten parents will be held with Ms Kernaghan and Miss Clark at 4.00pm in the K Pearl classroom.

Wednesday, 26th February - Kindergarten parents will have an opportunity to have a 10 minute meeting with their child’s class teacher. These meetings are not available on the Tuesday. Please complete and return provided slip.

Generous Donation! Thank you to Mrs Donna Nelson and to Mrs Linda Rohr for their kind donations of new toasters for our Breakfast Club room. The new toasters are very much appreciated and have already been put to good use.

Assembly - 21/2 A Whole School Assembly will take place this Friday, 21st February at 12.30pm in the Multi Purpose Hall. Parents and family members are invited to attend.

Rylstone / Kandos Show - 22/2 The annual Rylstone / Kandos Show will take place this Saturday, 22nd February. Our students have been busy over the past few weeks creating ‘In My Dreams’ artworks for entry into the show. If you are attending the show, please take the time to wander past the artworks that have been produced by the students from our local schools. We will place a display of show artworks in our office foyer area next week. Thank you to the Rylstone/Kandos Society Inc who generously donated a Family Pass to the Rylstone / Kandos Show. Congratulations to student, Kaidence Potts (1/2 Opals) who was the winner of the tickets. We hope your family enjoy the day!
