Business card with a new personal logo for a company.

Adobe Photoshop and InDesign

Create a new logo to t the companys personal image. Have matchingbusiess card with letterhead. Use basic tools in InDesign and Photoshop

I used the rectangle tool to create the front and the back of my businesscard. I then opened up Photoshop and outlined with the pencil tool, whatI wanted my beet to look like. I then used the watercolor brushes to

complete my design. I looked online and found a watercolor texture whichI placed on the back of my watercolored beet. I then placed the image onmy InDesign document (half the beet on one side of the business card andhalf on the other side). When I placed the beet on the font and back ofthe business card, I needed to make sure that the top half would match upwith the bottom half in size. I then added my text and aligned my contactinformation with the left edge of the beet.

I rst opened up Adobe Photoshop and created the background of myletterhead. I used the same watercolor texture background image that I

used in my business cards. I placed the texture on the background andthen used the watercolor brushes to create the stroke. I measured from myletterhead from the InDesign document where I wanted the green lines. Itook the watercolor brush and painted a line an inch above the bottom. Ithen took a ne tipped watercolor brush and painted a line at the top. Isaved my background and then placed the image as my background onmy InDesign document. I then placed the beet image I created for mybusiness cards in the upper left hand corner and then added text to createmy letterhead.

A tri-fold brochure for a non pro t organization.

Create a tri-fold brochure with a new logo for companies personalimage. Paragraph styles used and alignment.

I rst created a mock up brochure with printer papper to gure out thesize that I wanted for project. I then sketched what I wanted my design tolook like and wrote down all the measurements on where I wanted everythingto be located. From there I opened up InDesign and using my measurementsI separated my paper into 6 parts. 3 on the front and 3 on the back. From

my sketch I drew, I needed to create a repeating pattern from the front andthe back. I opened up Photoshop and created the Christmas trees with thetriangle tool and different opacities. I saved my nal repeating pattern andthen placed it inside my InDesign document over the front and the back of mybrochure layout. I then created my ornament by using the line and pen toolwith a different stroke and color. I then placed my Christmas tree picture onfold number 1 so that the image would be folded on the inside. I created mylogo in Photoshop using the circle tool. I placed my nished logo on top of theChristmas tree photo. From there I measured where the logo was located soI could align that with the ornament on the front of the brochure.

On the second page of my brochure I used a cream color to create awarm feeling because Christmas is a happy, warm time of the year. From thereI measured where the hole would be on the left panel using measurements soI could cut out the circle. I did that so the circle would line up with the logo onthe rst fold and on the left panel on the inside. Then I repeated my pattern ofusing ornaments and placed two more on the inside and over the hole I usedthe line and the bow for the ornament. I then added my text and aligned thatwith my photos.

After my brochure was complete I printed it out at Alpha Graphics andused the bone tool to create crisp professional lines.

A web page designed to show a personally created logo.

Adobe Photoshop and Textwrangler.

Using an original logo as a .png to use for web page. Design a web pageusing HTML and CSS. Create a web page that displays logo and content.

I created a web page using Text Wrangler. I have never had experiencecreating a website just using CSS and HTML coding. It was both interestingand fun to use different codes to create the effects that I wanted. I usedhttp://www.W3.org to validate my code. After I formed my layout using HTML. I connected the HTML documentto the CSS document. From there I was able to insert my background imagesinto the CSS document. I opened up my design logo in Photoshop and wasable to pick out the colors that I wanted to use for my font on the websiteusing the eyedropper tool. The fonts that I used were Times New Roman andGeorgia. I gave the website two font chouces as backups. I used one of thefonts in my logo to create new images/text in Photoshop so I could embedthem into the document.

Learn how to blend imaged together using masks. Manage Photoshoplayers, use lters and typography.

I rst found the two images that I wanted to use in the montage. I thenopened them up in Adobe Photoshop. I cropped the image that I wanted asmy background so that it was an 8.5 by 11. I opened up the second imagein a separate document in Photoshop. I then used the lasso tool to cut out theimage that I wanted to blend smoothly into my background. I then draggedthe cut out image onto my background image and grabbed the paint tool.With the black paint and the opacity at 80% I started blending in my image.I then changed the opacity to 15% and started blending in the backgroundmore. I then used creative alignment to display my typography. I used theoverlay option with text rough and height with an inner glow.

Three different logos for my Up Beet Juicing Company.

Adobe Illustrator.

Using basic tools in Illustrator to create a variety of different logos for a company.

I used illustrator to draw all three logos. For the rst logo I used the pen toolto create the outline of the beet and the details on the leaves. I then usedcreative alignment to add my text inside the logo. The second logo I used thecircle shape and the pen tool to create the outlines of my fruit and vegetables.I also used the pen tool to create the detailed leaves and used different colors

to create depth. The last logo I used the circle shape tool and the pen toolto create the straw. I added my text and used creative alignment. I also useddifferent color schemes with the different logos.

A full bleed color ier only using Microsoft Word to promot a fundraiser.

Create a full bleed ier using Microsoft Word. Learn how to scanphotos properly and print.

I rst scanned the images from a magazine. I opened up Microsoft Word andstretched the photo across the whole page. From there I added a box and coloredit purple and stretched it all the way across the bottom. I then made another boxand made the outline purple and the inside a white with a lower opacity. Then Iadded another box and colored it orange with a lower opacity; to tie in the titleand the pumpkins in the background. I then created the title using typographyand a white box with a low opacity and some orange to create a visual ow.

Black & white promotional ier for a graduate leadership conference.

Create a black and white ier with all the information given to you.

I rst sketched out four different layouts on what I wanted the ier to looklike. I then created a folder so I could keep all of my material together. I thenopened up Adobe InDesign and used one of my sketches to create a ier.In the title I used two different types of fonts and sizes. With my photo, Iopened up Photoshop and I cut out the image using the lasso tool. I thensaved the photo and placed in inside the InDesign document. I then created abox and made turned down the opacity so that it was translucent. I used mytwo different fonts throughout the ier to create repetition. I left white spaceand aligned my body copy. I was given the image, logo and the content forthis ier.

A poster created to demonstrate photography and color combination skills.

Adobe Photoshop

Demonstrate good photography and editing skills. Use photo tocreate a poster and demonstrate color combinations.

I went to a park with a T3i Canon camera and took a photo with good lightingand sharp focus. I uploaded the image on Photoshop and vibrance, sharpen andlevels to edit the photo. I attened the image, saved it and then opened a newpage on Photoshop (8.5 x 11). I dragged the image over to the blank documentand I placed my text and repeated design elemenets. I picked out my colorscheme by using the eye dropper tool to nd two complementary colors withinthe photo. I used the two complementary colors and repeated them throughoutthe design. The lines in the design were created by the rectange shape tool andused the rule of odds to place them throughout the design.
