CHEMA '97 PREVIEW such as filter press feed. The design maintains high flow rates and incorporates a pres- sure booster which obviates the need of any additional pressure control loops. The mainstream SSP rotary [] lobe pump type, the SR Range, 1 now offers process engineers the choice of vertical as well as horizontal pumphead connec- tions. The introduction of verti- cal connections gives benefits of pumping chamber self draining and ease of installation beneath process vessels. The new SSP SK Range Ultra- clean rotary lobe pumps satisfy the most stringent standards for processes where aseptic or sterile operation is critical. Full compatibility with CIP (clean- ing in place) and SIP (sterilisa- tion in place) are fundamental design criteria which comple- ment standard easy cleaning characteristics. Quieter diaphragm vacuum pump With the increasing demand for smaller, quieter pumps, Charles Austen has introduced the D5 series of oil-free diaphragm pumps for air, gas and liquids. These will be displayed on Stand B13, Hall 5.1. Developed using the latest moulding technology, these pumps benefit from an exhaust baffle built into the head space, which reduces noise whilst pro- ducing 5 l/rain flow FAD. With the choice of optional materials for the head compo- nents the pump can be used with a wide range of corrosive gases. Models with DC motors can be used in portable and vehicle mounted equipment. Ty- pical applications include gas analysers, medical equipment and automotive emission sam- plers. Contact: Charles Austen Pumps, Royston Road, Byfleet, West By- fleet, Surrey KT14 7NY, UK.
