8- FTP user & password setup. Test Mode 783 has been added to enable/disable the FTP port on ComColor main unit. Value: 0: FTP Enable (Factory default). 1: FTP Disable.

9- Improved envelope printing quality by adding Test Mode 1925 (Envelope Print Mode). Value 0: Normal print mode (Factory default). 1: Envelope print mode. This mode will reduce the print speed to between 60- 70% depending on the lenghth of the envelope.

10- Post script page level attribute (tray selection).

11- Multiple-page forms overlay. IS900C form overlay has been expanded to include the use of multipage forms in a single print job. The registered multi-page data as forms are ovelaid on the output document according to the corresponding page number.

12- Speed up of feed tray switching (in case of same paper size/type). At rated speed, the feed tray switching is activated by Test Mode 1781 (Tray Shift Time Set). Value 0: Normal speed (Factory default) 1: High speed.

Important: DO NOT OPEN the feed trays when the feed tray switching is running in high speed tray switching mode. Doing so may damage the machine.

The following program bugs have been corrected:

1- Stapler would not return to home position when Y04-3201 (Staples empty) was displayed.

2- Paper jam may occur when setting Test Mode 1781: Tray Shift Time set to 1: High Speed.

3- Controller hard drive full (W17-0050) may occur when system resource performance slows down and job deletion does not perform completely.

4- E-mail address header is displayed wrongly when using scan to e-mail function. This has been rectif ed by UTF-8 encode and the following test modes are added; TM731: Mail Header Encode. TM732: Mail File Encode: 0: UTF-8 Encode ON (Default). 1: UTF-8 Encode OFF.

5- IP address shows “0.0.0.0” even when DHCP is ON.

6- Operation panel lock when power is switched OFF during machine change from test Mode to Normal Mode.

7- Print halt in high-volume printing due to memory being full.

8- S98-0022-X Variation code: PMS-Engine communication error. The variation codes are added to distinguish the cause of the error: X=1: Possibility of poor connection with IP PCB. X=2: Possibility of faulty IP PCB. X=3: Possibility of faulty f exible cable or software error.

9- Pressurized ink tank ink level detection error (Empty ink cartridge is inserted) Ink level detection error such as S35-2069 would occur if empty ink cartridge was set several times.

10- Detection of punching chad (Finisher): Punching chad overf ow due to misdetection.

Limitation on SNALL Ver. 21.15.3:

Test Mode 402: Test Mode Confi g. Print: While Test Mode Numbers and Return Values are printed, Test Modes’ Descriptions are not. This program bug will be rectifi ed on the next fi rmware.

PostScript page-level attribute: PostScript command for feed tray switching:

The IS900C f rmware Ver. 1.0R-1510.206 in tandem with SNALL Ver. 21.15.3 allows for the control of the feed tray switching by means of PostScript command, bypassing the IS900C printer driver. For further details on this function, please consult the following document:

A. Using the Printer Driver

This method allows a static selection of pages that will be sent to specific paper trays.

Please refer to the IS900c Printer Driver guide for detailed information on using the printer driver.

You can select a different tray for each page of the print job. Use commas to separate individual page numbers (e.g., 1, 2, 3), and hyphens to indicate page ranges (e.g., 1-10). For the specified pages, images are processed according to the tray's paper type. Settings

By adding a checkmark, you can select a different tray for each page.

B. Manually select trays for a print job held in the IS900c RIP Hold queue: This queue is for storing jobs. The jobs sent to this queue from the computer are stored in the print controller. To process jobs stored in the Hold queue, give commands such as printing a job, using the RISO Console. Storing original data that are frequently used or shared documents in the Hold queue enables to print them without opening the application and giving the command to print for every job from the RISO Console screen.

Step #1 Send your print job to the hold queue.

Step #2 Go to the IS900c console and Select the Job and then select Edit. (Refer to the IS900c Utility Guide page 24)

Step #3 Select the Trays tab.

Step #4 Select Tray selection per page and enter the appropriate page numbers in the tray pages fields and then click apply.

Use commas to separate individual page numbers (e.g., 1, 2, 3), and hyphens to indicate page ranges (e.g., 1-10). For the specified pages, images are processed according to the tray's paper type. (Refer to the IS900c Utility Guide page 28)

Step #5 Print the job.

C. Configure a new queue to support tray calls for repeated static jobs

Step #1 Create a normal type print queue. (Refer to the IS900c Utility Guide page 80)

You can select a different tray for each page. Use commas to separate individual page numbers (e.g., 1, 2, 3), and hyphens to indicate page ranges (e.g., 1-10). For the specified pages, images are processed according to the tray's paper type. Settings

By adding a checkmark, you can select a different tray for each page.

Step #2 Modify the tray settings of the new queue by checking Tray selection per page and checking Queue priority. Enter the appropriate page numbers in each tray. Then click Apply.

Any print job sent to this queue will use these predefined tray calls of the queue.

The example below shows a queue configured so that pages 1,3,5,7,9 go to the standard tray and pages 2,4,6,8,10 go to tray 1. Any additional pages in the job would go to an automatically selected tray because that is what is set for the “input tray” of this queue. You may also specify that the input tray is the standard tray or tray 1, 2, or 3.

D. Sending Postscript with dynamic tray calls to a configured queue

This fourth option is for use with postscript files that have tray selections entered at the page level of the PS code.

Step #1 Create a new print queue.

Step #2 Edit the queue.

Step #3 Select the Trays tab.

Step #4 Place a check mark next to Tray selection per page and then click apply.

Do not enter page numbers in the tray pages fields of this queue.

The FTP protocol is supported for accessing the IS900c print queues. Command line file transfer to aqueue and GUI based drag n drop file transfers are supported.

The IS900c can be configured to restrict FTP access or limit access to specific users.

The User management tab allows you to set FTP access. See page 55 of the IS900c Utility Guide. Thescreenshot shows both Allow FTP and Allow Anonymous FTP. Only one can be checked.Enabling/Disabling FTP Access

Caution for upgrading fi rmware to SNALL Ver. 21.XX.XX:

To upgrade ComColor machines to SNALL Ver. 21.XX.XX, the existing f rmware must be Ver. 5.57.XX or higher depending on the hard drive old/new type. Please pay close attention to the hard drive (HDD) type when upgrading.

Case-1 Upgrading from a fi rmware version under 5.57.XX to version 21.XX.XX:

At f rst, the f rmware must be upgraded to any version between 5.57.XX and 7.1X.XX, then to 21.XX.XX.

Case-2 Upgrading fi rmware when replacing the hard drive:

1) Old-type hard drive: 050-75039-052 It is required to upgrade the f rmware to any version between 5.57.XX and 7.1X.XX, then to 21.XX.XX.

2) New-type hard drive: 050-75039-150

Firmware can be upgraded directly to 21.XX.XX given that the existing version is 5.57.xx or higher.

Note:

The difference between old and new type hard drives in term of fi rmware upgrade is that the old type has to have a version higher than 5.57.XX.XX to be upgraded to 21.xx.xx, whereas the new type could be upgraded directly to 21.xx.xx if it has version 5.57.xx.
