Our modern high quality teeth are fabricated in layers with various inclusions of characterisation, translucency and opalescence which give a subtle response to changing light conditions to achieve a remarkable lifelike appearance. We can also create a natural matching appearance to the patient’s own gingivae which enhances the whole cosmetic appearance of the prosthesis. Indications: Full arch missing teeth - complete dentures Replacing missing teeth where there are existing teeth left - partial dentures Advantages: Dentures can be cheaper than other options particularly if many teeth are involved It is easy to make adjustments and additions to plastic dentures Dentures can make eating easier and make speech clearer Dentures support the muscles of the face, sometimes providing a more youthful appearance Modern dentures are more comfortable and look more like natural teeth than those made with previous technologies and materials Disadvantages: Dentures must be removed and cleaned frequently to avoid disease, may move during eating and speaking and require muscle control, which some people find difficult. Designed to replace dentition in a totally edentulous mouth. Dentures can be constructed in a combination of metal and acrylic, or purely out of the diverse acrylic types available.

Impression Technique: Traditional

Full Dentures Materials:• Heraeus Paladent 20 heat cured acrylic• Heraeus, Vita and Ivoclar teeth• Cast metal: Chrome dentures, full palate, full mesh palate• High impact acrylics• Soft linings• Gold inlays

Processes: • Cold cured• Injection packed dentures• Pressure and heat packed dentures• Characterisation: Rugae, labial buccal carving, stippling and colouring

Partial dentures are designed to replace missing dentition and prevent healthy dentition from migrating due to a loss of proximal or opposing teeth.

The general objective with partial dentures is to prevent problems which might occur if teeth migrate out of their natural dimension and position. Partial dentures can be constructed in a combination of metal and acrylic, or purely out of the diverse range of acrylics available.
