    A Pronoun is

    A word used to stand for or take the place

    of a noun

    Example:

    She is going shopping.

    She is the pronoun because it takes the place of

    a person (e.g. Nicole, Haley, Jenna)

    A noun to which the pronoun refers to. Itusually goes before the noun.

    Indefinite Pronouns as Antecedents

    Usually the following pronoun antecedents

    take singular pronoun referents

    Each, either, neither, one, no one, nobody, nothing,

    anyone, anybody, anything, someone, somebody,

    something, everyone, everybody, everything

    Example:

    Everyone of the students does his or her

    homework.

    Such as:

    Both, several, few, many

    Examples:

    How do you know when to use plural or singular??

    When the object of the preposition is uncountableuse singular, when the object is countable use

    plural.

    Singular:
