MOT DU DIRECTEURA WORD FROM THE DIRECTORNous en sommes à notre 13e édition. Ça ne faisait pas partie de notre plan d’affairesfranchement lorsque nous avions fait le premier en l’an 2000. L’appui des artisteset de certains membres de notre commu-nauté nous ont probablement inspirés et propulsés vers l’avant, en dépit des embû-ches, des obstacles. Nous sommes parti-culièrement fiers de notre sélection 2012 et aussi de notrenouveau volet pour les enfants, Ma PremièreGalerie d’Art. Bon festival à tous!

Fima’s 2012 vintage is certainly bound to be one of the finest if only by the selected participating artists. In spite of numerous obstacles, here we are again, celebrating the arts and very proud of our new facet for the children “My First Art Gallery”. After all, our children are tomorrow’s art lovers and we are devoted to help them appreciate art. Have a good festival!

Le visuel que je vous ai proposé naît d’une rencontre par l’image avec le pont Jacques-Cartier. Explorer la rue Sainte-Catherine, la traverser et la parcourir pen-dant le Festival c’est se mettre en quête d’une rencon-tre avec quelqu’un ou quelque chose qui nous touche, comme cet animal que l’on croise, l’air joueur et l’air de dire : «adoptez-moi !»

I offered that visual proposition for the 13th FIMA .It’s an image illustrating the Jacques-Cartier bridge cros-sing over Ste-Catherine St. Exploring Montreal’s main artery, observing like in the quest of an encounter with somebody or something that will touch us, just like this animal also in quest of a family, someone who will adopt it!

Le FIMA nous fait découvrir depuis 13 ans des artistes de talent, dans une atmosphère festive propre à Montréal. En plus de contribuer à l’essor économique du quartier, ce festival, avec sa programmation diversifiée, participe à la vie culturelle de notre métropole. Je remercie les organisateurs d’animer ainsi cette portion de la rue Sainte-Catherine, que les piétons peuvent maintenant s’approprier tout au long de l’été.

Cette année, le FIMA organise sa toute première soirée de lancement haute en performances artistiques : Sophie Wilkins nous dévoilera ses talents en Body Painting; plusieurs stations de création seront mises en place et permettront aux nombreux artistes présents de laisser libre cours à leur créativité; une installation de light graffiti supervisée par aJ korkidakis invitera le public à expérimenter cette nouvelle technique projetée en direct. Pour clore cette soirée, nous accueillerons le vJ homing avec son installation de mapping Pixel accompagné du dJ vincent Gauvin.

This year, FimA is holding its first ever launch party with high art performances: sophie Wilkins will show us her talents in body Painting; Some creative stations will be in place and allow the many artists present to unleash their creativity; a light graffiti installation under the direction of aJ korkidakis will invite the public to experiment this new technique projected live. vJ homing will close the evening with the installation of mapping Pixels with dJ vincent gauvin.

‘’anima-Expé’’ est un programme d’animations et d’expérimentations abstraites. Pascal Lièvre, reconnu ici et à l’étranger, amuse, divertit et dénonce par des œuvres ludiques les propos tenus par les gens du pouvoir dans son programme intitulé ‘’Chantons avec pascal lièvre’’. ‘’dansons’’ révèle la danse dans tous ses états : parfois fulgurante, parfois sensuelle, parfois étrange et fascinante… Et enfin ‘’Fraîcheur avec Sylvie’’ est une sélection de bandes de Sylvie Laliberté, reconnue comme l’une des plus grandes artistes dans son genre, alliant images, propos faussement naïfs et chansons tendres et légères.

‘’anima-expe’’ is a program of animations and abstracts experiments. Pascal lièvre, recogni-zed here and abroad, provide amusement, entertaining and denounces with playful works the remarks made by people of power in its program titled ‘’singing with pascal lièvre’’. ‘’dance‘’ reveals dance in all its forms: sometimes dazzling, sometimes sensual, sometimes strange and fascinating ... And finally, ‘’Freshness with sylvie’’ is a selection of short films of Sylvie laliberté, recognized as one of the greatest artists of its kind, combining pictures, falsely naïve words and tender and light songs.

Depuis 1963, Perruques Louis XIV est l’une des plus anciennes, mais aussi l’une des plus réputées boutiques de perruques. Cette entreprise familiale en est à sa quatrième génération de fiers propriétaires.

Spécialiste dans la personnalisation du remplacement capillaire prêts-à-porter, Mme Rosina Seminaro, la propriétaire et gérante du magasin, pratique sa passion avec style et élégance pour les personnes désirant se retrouver tel qu’avant la perte de cheveux, et ce, afin de leur redonner leur personnalité de façon naturelle.

Vous trouverez chez Perruques Louis XIV, des prothèses capillaires complètes ou partielles pour hommes, femmes et enfants.

Les perruques les plus coûteuses sont faites à la main à partir d’un bonnet monofilament sur le dessus, matière laissant par transparence apercevoir le teint de la peau. Cette implantation re-produit à la perfection le cuir chevelu.

Les populaires rallonges de cheveux sont également offertes, ainsi que les rallonges clip-in qui peuvent être ajoutées à vos propres cheveux ou à une perruque afin de créer plus de volume. Les prix varient de 40 $ à 250 $.

En vacances, il est idéal d’apporter des perruques puisque vous n’aurez pas à vous inquiéter de l’état de vos cheveux après une journée à la plage.

Le FIMA tient à remercier la famille Seminaro pour avoir gracieusement prêté un de ses locaux pour la réalisation de « Ma première galerie d’Art » .


FIMA a le plaisir de vous présenter son tout nouveau volet “Ma première Galerie d’art!” destiné aux enfants âgés de moins de 13 ans. L’objectif de ce volet est d’initier les enfants à collectionner de l’art en leur donnant accès à une exposition de qualité, faite sur mesure pour eux. Le nouveau projet du FIMA ‘’Totem Urbain’’ réunit trois collectifs d’artistes, EN MASSE, CEASE IT et TRIO MAGNUS autour de trois structures de 11 pieds de haut en forme de totem. Les artistes utiliseront ces totems comme support de création durant ce projet ‘’Totem Urbain’’ qui se dérou-lera en direct, à la vue et en présence des festivaliers.

Circuits [WAy] is an interactive installation «low-fi» in 3 layouts which proposes a transformation of the anonymity of a pilgrimage around the city in a creative, playful and reflective meeting point. Circuits [WAy] invites you to rediscover the hidden faces of your sightseeing around the city.

Dans l’installation interactive «se laisser prendre au jeu», le public pourra participer à la propa-gation d’une épidémie d’environ trente mille petites mouches. Chaque personne recevra une feuille remplie d’autocollants, faits à la main, qu’il disposera à sa guise dans l’espace. Jusqu’où ces insectes contamineront-ils les lieux de leur bour-donnement envahissant?

in the interactive installation ‘get caught up in the game’, visitors can participate in the spread of an epidemic of about thirty thousand small flies. each person will receive a sheet full of handmade stickers; participants will have to disseminate them within the space. How much will these flies conta-minate the scene with their pervasive buzz?
