Frequently Asked Questions...Q. I’m a graphic artist and I often get artwork sent to me onMac Zip Disks. Why can’t I open them?A. That’s because Windows is not able to open any Mac format-ted disks. are known as “cross-platform”programs). MacOpener is the easiest way to share business, graphics, publishing,

audio, video, web and any other kind of “cross-platform”files between a Macintosh and a Windows PC.

1. Share files with Mac usersWith MacOpener, you can access Mac disks from the Windows

Desktop, Explorer or any program’s “Open”or “Save As”menu.

Just double-click on the drive containing the Mac disk, and

instead of seeing this:

you’ll see:

Any Mac disk looks just like any Windows disk in your com-

puter. The only difference is that you will see “(Mac)”in the title

bar of the window indicating that you are using a Mac disk.

MacOpener even retains the long file names and adds the

appropriate icon and Windows extension to the file. When

copying files to a Mac disk, MacOpener writes the correct

Macintosh information to the file. This way, the Mac can recog-

nize the file and open it properly.

For example, if you’re a graphic artist and someone sends you a

Photoshop file on a Mac Zip disk, you simply insert the disk,

click on the appropriate drive, and then double-click on the file

to open it in your Windows Photoshop program.

2. Format disks as Macintosh before sending to Mac users

If you need to send Windows files to Mac users, you can format

Mac disks right on your PC. Mac users will be able to use your

disks without ever knowing they came from a Windows PC.
