, Award for students from international photography schools
Since 2007, the Promenades Photographiques festival has been organising the Prix Mark Grosset, intended to discover and promote young photo-graphers from international photography schools. The prize reveals other realms and new horizons and exposes the contemporary vision of the new generation. Every candidate delineates the geogra-phy of various territories and cultures, cuts across new boundaries and outlines new areas.
As a real laboratory of international photographic teaching, this event is meant to be a showcase, an opportunity open to tomorrow’s talents.
A PRESENCE AT THE HEART OF THE FES-TIVAL
This year, the projects of the candidates will be exhibited in the Manège Rochambeau, the main exhibition place of the Promenades Photogra-phiques festival. The projections will be directed by the photographer and video artist Alex Libert.

The 2021 jury will be chaired by:
MARC SIMON / Director of the photo department of VSD (2000 to 2008), Secretary General of the International Research Center for Political Ima-gery and in charge of photographic teaching at the Promenades Photographiques Festival
BRUNO MARMIROLI / Writer, Director of the Council of Architecture, Urban planning and Environment (2013 to 2017) and Director of the Mission Val de Loire World Heritage

PRIX MARK GROSSET / MISSION VAL DE LOIRE UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE
The winners in the documentary and art photogra-phy categories selected by the jury will be invited to the festival. They will be accommodated at the Mission Val de Loire residency and will get a 1500€ grant.
MISSION VAL DE LOIRE RESIDENCY
Created in 2002, The Mission Val de Loire contri-butes to reveal the bases and the values that account for the Val de Loire to be listed in the UNESCO World Heritage for its education, cultural and communication programmes.
As a partner of the Prix Mark Gosset since 2019, the Mission hosts the winners for an art residency in the very heart of the Val de Loire UNESCO World heritage site. The photographers will be invited to create a photographic work focusing on the Loire region. As a real showcase for the winners, the work accomplished at the residency will be exhibited during the 2022 edition of the Promenades photographiques festival.
*Applicants are to make sure they are available for three weeks between September and October 2021. Transportation and accommodation costs will be covered by the Mission Val de Loire. The residency will take place in the Centre Val de Loire region (France), the exact location and dates will be communicated later.

A third prize will be awarded at the end of the festival. The visitors of the Promenades Photo-graphiques will vote during the whole festival to elect their favorite series. The winner of the public’s choice award will be granted 1000€ with the support of the Société des auteurs des arts visuels et de l’image (SAIF) and the city of Vendôme.
THE PRIZE WILL BE AWARDED IN OCTOBER IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SAIF.

In addition to the prizes awarded, the 3 winners of the Prix Mark Grosset will receive 500 € of pho-tographic gear each, in partnership with Fujifilm
HOW TO APPLY
Applications are limited to one per school, candidates must be sponsored by a teacher.
This year we wil l accept a maximum of 20 applications, and as the Prix Mark Grosset organisation does not make a pre-selection, only the first twenty complete applications will be considered.
