  • Prince Albert Raiders Game Notes RAIDER REVIEW: The Raiders returned home with a 4-2 victory over the Kootenay Ice on Saturday night. After the Ice gained a 2-0

edge early in the second period, 19-year-old wingers Dakota Conroy and Carson Perreaux responded for the home side to even the

score heading into the third. In the final frame, 18-year-old centre Leon Draisaitl gave the Raiders the lead and 17-year-old forward Reid

Gardiner added the insurance. 16-year-old goaltender Nick McBride stopped 25 of 27 shots for the win.

VS THE WARRIORS: The Raiders will look to right the ship against the Warriors, as they have a 1-5-0-0 record against their rivals from

Moose Jaw this season. 17-year-old forward Reid Gardiner leads the attack with 4 goals and 2 assists in the season series while 19-year-

old defenceman Sawyer Lange has 6 asissts in 6 games against the Warriors.

PLAYOFF RACE: The Raiders are currently tied with the Red Deer Rebels for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

SLUMP BUSTER: 17-year-old forward Reid Gardiner ended a 19-game goalless drought on Saturday night. The draft-eligible forward

now has 21 goals on the season, along with 19 assists for 40 points.

CENTURY MARK: 18-year-old centre Leon Draisaitl has recorded 88 points in 57 games this season. With 7 games remaining this sea-

son, the German import is on pace to reach 103 pints, which would make him the first Raider to hit the century mark since Steve Kelly got

    101 in 1995-96.

CLEAR CHEMISTRY: 18-year-old centre Leon Draisaitl has assists on 5 of 18-year-old defenceman Josh Morrissey’s last 6 goals, while

Morrissey has picked up a point on 7 of the last 11 goals scored by Draisaitl.

TAKING ADVANTAGE: The Raiders power play has scored on 61 of its 247 opportunities for a 24.7 % conversion rate, good for third in

    the WHL.

SETTING THE PACE: 18-year-old centre Leon Draisaitl has recorded points in 46 of 57 games played this season. The Raiders are 2-9-0-

0 when the import centre does not hit the scoresheet this year.

ALONE AT THE TOP: 18-year-old defensemen Josh Morrissey has set the Raiders franchise record for goals in one season by a defence-

man with 23 on the year. Emanuel Viveiros set the previous record of 22 in 1985-86.

RAIDERS RANKED: 18-year-old centre Leon Draisaitl has been ranked 2nd among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting

Service’s recent Midterm rankings for the 2014 NHL Draft, making him the highest ranked player in the WHL. 17-year-old forward Reid

Gardiner holds down the 40th spot on the list, the 11th highest player in the WHL. .

MILESTONES: 18-year-old defenceman Josh Morrissey is 2 points shy of 150 and 18-year-old centre Leon Draisaitl is 4 points back of

the same mark. 19-year-old centre Jayden Hart needs a single point to reach 100 career points. 19-year-old winger Dakota Conroy is 3

games from 200. 20-year-old goaltender Cole Cheveldave is 2 saves from 4000.

UPCOMING GAMES: The Raiders continue their 4-game home stand on Friday when the Calgary Hitmen come to town followed by the

Brandon Wheat Kings on Saturday. They travel to Moose Jaw on the 11th before facing the Pats in Regina on the 12th. The Green and Gold

close out the regular season with a home and home series with the Saskatoon Blades, starting on Friday March 14th at the Art Hauser Cen-

    tre.
