HOW ESTEBAN BECAME A HAWK: Signed by the Hawks as a free agent on September 12, 2005.

SUMMER 2006: Batista led Uruguay to a runner-up finish in the 2006 FIBA South American championships (inCaracas, Venezuela), after leading all players in total points (85, 21.3 ppg), free throws made (37), rebounding(offensive, defensive and total - 10.8 rpg), and he was 2nd in blocks (1.0) and 4th in steals (3.0) • After earningfirst-team All-Tournament honors, Batista joined the Hawks' summer league team and played in three games atthe Rocky Mountain Revue in Salt Lake City, averaging 6.0 ppg and 3.0 rpg in 13.3 mpg (.667 FG%, .833 FT%).

COLLEGIATE CAREER: Wright was selected a Third Team All-America by the Associated Press as a sophomore •Recorded 31 double-doubles in 64 games at Memphis and became just the third sophomore in school history to score 1,000career points • As a sophomore, Wright averaging 17.4 ppg and 10.4 rpg in 1995-96, posting a conference-high 16 double-doubles and ranking 16th in the nation in rebounding • He was a starter for the 1995 USA World University Gamesand a McDonald's High School All-American.
