THE PREVIEW CONCEPT BY MUNICH FABRIC START

VIEW Premium Selection and MUNICH FABRIC START offer the industry a unique trade fair format featuring two complementary events that bring together at the Munich location esta-blished clothing producers from the German-speaking area and its neighbouring countries with international fabric manufacturers.

VIEW Premium Selection is an exclusive preview trade fair held in Munich twice a year. It offers the fashion sector an ideal kick-off to the season by presenting a key selection of fabric innovations and pre collections at the earliest possible date, already weeks ahead of the major European textile fairs. This date gives fabric buyers and designers a vital information head start for putting together their col-lections. With an expert array of more than 300 highly fashionable collections from the areas of fabrics, additionals & trimmings, denim & sportswear as well as prints, VIEW reflects the entire spectrum of qualities that the industry is requiring for the seasons kick-off. The featured product portfolio, concen-tration just two days of exhibition in a productive working atmosphere as well as the opportunity for an inspiring exchange of ideas with the sector all make VIEW a highly efficient business platform for visitors and exhibitors alike.

VIEW Design Studios rounds off the portfolio with print and pattern innovations in a dedicated area.

VIEW presents a product portfolio at highest quality level which is carefully assembled every season according to selective criteria. To guarantee constant excellence in the trade fair range, organisers focus on high-quality brands that invest in long-term research and development. On exhibition space of 5000 m2 top international weaving mills and agencies will find a charming and yet highly professional trade fair setting here for the presentation of their collections.

The MVG Museum is located at Ständlerstraße 20, just 3.5 kilometres away from Munich city centre. Its proximity to the Salzburg motorway provides an ideal link for those travelling from further afield. Further-more, the trade fair can easily be reached from Munich city centre on public transport.

HISTORY

pendent segments from then on. Especially for the DENIM & SPORTSWEAR segment, VIEW offers an additional presentation date for showcasing the ever changing innovations denim brands now undergo. Winter 2014 saw VIEW incorporate the DESIGN STUDIOS segment thereby extending its portfolio to include individual prints and patterns. At the same time, the Trendforum was staged for the first time. Pooling the early trends for fabrics, findings and colours in the coming season this forum serves as a valuable and comprehensive source of inspiration for trade visitors at the earliest possible point in time. This means VIEW has developed from an exclusive sector-only get-together into a regular, key date for many buyers and designers from high-end, ready-to-wear producers and renowned companies that are smart enough to capitalise on the earliest date possible for the seasonal kick-off – as an important informative and inspirational basis.

VIEW Premium Selection was launched in 2008 to provide the sector with initial collection develop-ments and material trends for pre-view thereby prompting an inspiring exchange as an early kick-off for the new season in an exclusive setting. Since then VIEW – as a pre-view event to MUNICH FABRIC START – has twice yearly presented a carefully curated selection of pre-collections from internatio-nal top-notch weaving mills and findings manufacturers. With its strategically early dates VIEW quickly became an established fixture in the industry’s agenda at the beginning of the season. The constant demand for more exhibition space paired with a steady rise in visitors from Germany and its neighbou-ring countries soon saw VIEW reach its capacity limits. In summer 2014 VIEW set a new milestone: the move from Prisco Haus to Munich’s Verkehrsmuseum (MVG Museum) provided the space needed to showcase some 300 collections – twice as many as in previous seasons. In the wake of this move the ADDITIONALS and DENIM & SPORTSWEAR segments were also extended, presented as inde-
