(916) 591-0050 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Sacramento Superior Court New Court Executive Officer ThejudgesoftheSacramentoSuperiorCourthaveselectedtheHon.LloydG.Connelly(ret.)astheCourtExecutiveOfficeroftheSacramentoSuperiorCourt.UndertheCaliforniaRulesofCourt,theCourtExecutiveOfficerisresponsibleforoverseeingthemanagementandadministrationofthenonjudicialoperationsofthecourtandallocatingresourcesinamannerthatpromotesaccesstojusticeforallmembersofthepublic.

JudgeConnellybringsawealthofknowledgeandexperiencetohisnewposition.From1982to1993JudgeConnellyrepresentedSacramentoasaMemberoftheCaliforniaAssembly,whereheservedasCoChairoftheAssemblyJudiciaryCommitteeandChairoftheAssemblySubCommitteeontheAdministrationofJustice.Inthoserolesheacquiredaremarkablebreadthofexperienceinmattersrelatingtothejudiciary,accesstojustice,andcourtbudgeting.

FollowinghislegislativeservicehebecameaJudgeoftheSacramentoSuperiorCourtin1993,andpresidedovernumerouscriminal,civilandwritproceedingsuntilhisretirementin2012.

SacramentoPresidingJudgeKevinR.CulhanestatedthatOurcourtisextremelyfortunatetoselectaCEOwithJudgeConnellysexperience,intellectandcharacter.Hehasadeepunderstandingoflegislativematters,trialcourtfundingmethodology,courtoperations,andfiscalmanagement.Inaddition,hislongserviceasaSuperiorCourtJudgeearnedhimtherespectofhispeersstatewideandthesupportoftheentireSacramentoSuperiorCourtbench.ThecourtisfortunatetohaveapersonwithJudgeConnellyslongexperienceandunquestionedintegrityserveasitsCourtExecutiveOfficer.
