United souls is also a tribute to music and its key role in the struggles for the emancipation of oppressed peoples. Blues, jazz, soul, afrobeat, cumbia, hip-hop and what’s known as "global groove", have indisputably entered contemporary culture and can be counted as a contribution to world cultural heritage. From a more pragmatic angle, this new brand sends a strong message to music lovers and fans of these genres: supporting United Souls means being involved and investing in an artistic cultural initiative that shares the spirit of this culture and its roots.

United souls takes up the challenge of highlighting political art in all its diversity and richness by working in collaboration with talented artists who have a message to share. Political Art as we define it doesn’t necessarily

mean belonging to a political organization. It’s the reflection of a thoughtful vision of society, its actors, and of their involvement as world citizens. nowadays, a struggle, a fight, or an ideal can be symbolized

just as much by a face than a sentence. The political art of United souls aims towards contributing to a more humanistic and supportive society in our troubled times.

the man behind the brand

At the age of 9, Jacques Goba immigrated to Caen, Normandy, in north-western France where he spent his childhood and adolescence. At the age of 20 he went back to his roots, spending 5 years in Ivory Coast, his home country… While there he realized that Francophone Africa and France share a common heritage. Despite difficulties throughout history, the use of a common language makes it possible to share, think and create strong links between the peoples of the North and South. It’s a cultural asset that deserves to be highlighted. With United Souls, Jacques Goba wants to bring people together through

a strong and universal message. With United Souls Jacques Goba wishes to express what he calls his «Africanness»: human interchange in the pursuit of a common ideal. Using T-shirts as a medium, thanks to their organic cotton and stylish design, the message is powerful and provokes the citizens of the world to get involved in the struggle for African recognition and stand together as United Souls.

soro solo (host of the radio shows "Afrique Enchantée" and "L’Afrique en Solo" on France Inter radio), talent-spotter and African storyteller, has recognised the resonance of his own hopes for the continent in Patrice Lumumba. That’s why he has chosen to wear his portrait in solidarity with the upright and unshakeable fight of this great man from The Democratic Republic of the Congo.

At the famous rio loco festival in Toulouse, we had the opportunity of presenting the United Souls Project to the famous Jupiter Bokondji and his band Okwess International. To our great surprise the whole team jumped on the series of t-shirts that we had produced and spontaneously offered to pose with the shirts. Some of the band members proudly wore their t-shirts during a show on radio FIP. Watch the interviewAnd another time in front of 20,000 people during a TV show filmed by Arte.tv
