About SEE Week

Join us for a week of spiritual enrichment and take Unity Institute courses locally. If you are a casual learner, courses may be taken for your own enjoyment and enrichment. Or you can take them for credit and work towards a certification program. SEE courses provide practical metaphysical teachings you can use everyday to enrich your life.

All classes are held at Seattle Unity and limited to 20-25 students. Early registration is recommended and an early-bird rate is available until August 5th. Classes taken for credit require a $45 recording fee per class.

Books for classes are available through Seattle Unity’s Serendipity Gifts & Books or online through the Amazon link on the Seattle Unity website.

Accommodations are not included in the registration. The Best Western Loyal Inn (2301 8th Ave. N Seattle, WA 206-682-0200) is very close to Seattle Unity and is offering a special rate. A limited num-ber of home-stay options are available. Contact us for more details.

Lunch is available each day during the week. If you pre-pay, the cost is $50 for the whole week. You may also sign up and pay each morning. The cost is $12 per day.

Inspirational New Thought minister and host of Unity FM's popular Metaphysical Romp, Reverend Dr. Paul Hasselbeck, who teaches several cours-es at Unity Institute® a n d S e m i -nary at Unity Village. He became acquaint-ed with Unity during the late 1980s and has written several b o o k s i n c l u d -ing Heart-Centered Metaphysics and Power Up (12 Pow-ers). Paul dedicates his time to helping U n i t y s t u d e n t s around the world tap into their own spiritu-al potential.

PR-800 Life of Prayer

M-F 2:30-4:30 pm Instructor Rev. Karen Lindvig

The course introduces the Unity way of affirmative prayer. It will also pro-vide traditional Unity definitions of prayer and will assist you in creating your own definition of the prayer process. This course will explore the ben-efits of developing a life of prayer and will give you the opportunity to prac-tice affirmative prayer.

MS-801 The 12 Powers

M-F 12:30-2:30 pm

Instructor Rev. Paul Hasselbeck In this course we will review many of our basic Unity principles in addition to exploring the Twelve Powers. Our working knowledge of our Truth Princi-ples and the Twelve Powers will then be put into practical application in our own lives. Through the use of these Truth Principles and the Twelve Powers you can more fully be the Christ you already are and develop your destiny as you so choose.

MS-815 Myrtle & Charles Fillmore on Healing & Wholeness Part 1

M-F 9:30-11:30 am Instructor Rev. Paul Hasselbeck

This course is based in the spiritual universal principles that support the expression of health and wholeness in our minds, bodies and affairs. We will be working with Myrtle and Charles Fillmore’s interpretation of how Jesus used and demonstrated those in his own life. Such principles will be present-ed to support participants in developing a practical understanding of Myrtle and Charles Fillmore’s theology as heart-centered metaphysicians.

R e v e r e n d K a r e n Lindvig was ordained as a Unity minister in 1984. She has served churches in Olathe, Kansas, Reno, Nevada and Seattle Unity for the past 25 years. Ka-ren weaves together wisdom from astrolo-gy, the New Thought movement and East-ern religions. She re-mains an avid Cubs fan.

BI-821 Bible Overview: Christian Scripture

M-F 2:30-4:30 pm Instructor Rev. Ann Thomas A primary purpose of the course is to develop an understanding of the Christian Scriptures’ meaning for the people to whom they were written. Overview of the Christian Scriptures is based on the premise that, whatever else the Christian Scriptures may be, they most defi-nitely are the response of early Christian writers to both the person and the message of Jesus Christ. Understanding the Christian Scrip-tures as a Testament about Jesus Christ rather than a Testament of Jesus Christ frees us to appreciate and become inspired by the power-ful faith of these first followers of The Way.

MS-804 Discover the Power Within You

Join us on the journey within to connect to your true nature, your Di-vinity. Eric Butterworth calls us to believe that the Divinity within hu-mankind’s consciousness was not just Jesus’ heritage. Rev. Linda has been a Uni-ty student for 40 years and a Unity Minister for 36 years, and is Senior Minis-ter of Unity of Skagit Val-ley. She has also served as the Senior Minister of Uni-ty Church of Bellevue, Washington. She is en-gaged in the cutting edge study of spiritual growth and development and, in addition, continues to pur-sue leadership develop-ment, training in manage-ment, organizational devel-opment, and effectual com-munication. She is a strong, gifted and success-ful leader with an unwaver-ing dedication to Unity’s great work of transforming lives and co-creating a world that works for all.

Reverend Ann Thomas was minister of Unity Church in Lynnwood for 23 years. She has served on Unity World-wide Ministries Ethics Re-view Team and as Judicato-ry Representative for Uni-ty's Northwest Region. She has a passion for teaching the Bible and loves to share her sometimes outrageous portrayals of various Bible characters.

Courses Offered

Rev. Bill Worth served four Unity churches after his ordination in 1996. He is now retired and has written two novels of met-aphysical fiction: House of the Sun: A Metaphysical Novel of Maui and The Hidden Life of Jesus Christ: A Memoir. He teaches classes and heads the Small Group Ministry Leadership Team at Unity of Bellevue, where his wife, Nancy, is senior min-ister.

MS-802 Lessons in Truth

M-F 12:30-2:30 pm Instructor Rev. Bill Worth

We are embarking on an exciting adventure to explore Truth with Dr. H. Emilie Cady. Dr. Cady was a physician and metaphysician in the New Thought movement. The chapters that form Lessons in Truth are some of the very first metaphysical discussions published by Unity. This book is an important foundation to the understanding of Unity metaphysics.

Allen Watson is a Licensed Unity Teacher, having com-pleted five years of study with Unity Institute. He has been a member of Uni-ty of Portland since 2007. He has studied metaphys-ics for over 30 years, and has facilitated study groups on A Course in Miracles since 1987, including a group at Unity of Portland since 2007. He is the au-thor of a number of books about the Course. He has a deep, abiding interest in the Bible, particularly its metaphysical meanings. He resides in Portland, Ore-gon, with his wife, Peggy Baldwin (a L.U.T. candi-date), and two dogs, Dusty and Taylor.

Elective-The Meaning of Mary Magdalene: Discovering the Woman at the Heart of Spirituality

Mary Magdalene is one of the most influential symbols in the history of Christianity. In this class, we will take a fresh look at what the Bible says about her (probably not what you think!), what role she plays in the Gospel of Philip, the Gospel of Thomas, the Pistis Sophia, and es-pecially in the only gospel attributed to a woman, the Gospel of Mary Magdalene. We will study her gospel in some detail. What we find in these documents is a radical view of Mary Magdalene as Jesus’s most important disciple, the one he considered to under-stand his teaching best. That teaching was characterized by a nondual-istic approach to the world and by a deep understanding of the value of the feminine. We will discover how an understanding of Mary Mag-dalene can revitalize contemporary Christianity and empower Unity, how we can, through her, find our way to Jesus’ original teachings and apply them to our modern lives.
