INTRODUCTION UTeM UC
This user guide describes how to use and configure UTeM UC. UTeM UC is a softphone from CounterPath (based on UTeM UC)
that enables you to make VoIP voice and video calls, send and receive instant messages, share online status (presence)
information and exchange files.
STANDARD CALL FEATURES :
UTeM UC softphones have all standard enterprise
telephone features, including:
• Call display
• Voicemail with message waiting indicator (MWI)
• Speakerphone and mute
• Redial
• Hold
• Do not disturb
• Call history
• Call forward
• Call transfer
• Call record
• Auto answer
• Five-party audio conferencing (hosted locally)
ENHANCED FEATURES AND FUNCTIONS :
• IM and presence
• Contact list containing the individual user’s contacts
• File transfer
• Automatic detection of audio and video devices
• Acoustic echo cancellation, automatic gain control, voice
activity detection
• Support for the following audio codecs: G.711aLaw,
G.711μLaw, G.722, G.729A, G.729B, GSM, Opus, Silk
Narrowband, SILK Wideband, SILK Super-Wideband,
Speex

DEVICES AND EQUIPMENTS UTeM UC
To be able to place or receive calls using UTeM UC, you need a
hardware setup that will allow you to speak and listen. Here is a
list of the equipment that is normally required for UTeM UC.

• Your new number, 06-270 ( 4-Digit Extension )
