FRIENDSHIP Project and JICA -Scholarship Program 2019
Project for Future Researchers at Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IIT-H) to Enhance Network Development with
Scholarship of Japan

• For 2018 Academic Year 30 scholarships are available
• The term of scholarship is maximum 3 years for Doctoral Course and 2 years
for Master Course
• 6 months research studentship can be provided if required by prospective
supervisor
• The field of study must be consistent with the degree obtained at IITH in the
field of science, technology and engineering with particular emphasis on the five
major fields of the FRIENDSHIP project as below :
Energy and Environment;
Next Generation Communication Technology;
Design and Manufacturing;
Nanotech/science;
Sustainable Development.

Financial Assistance Provided :
Admission Fees, Tuition Fees & Examination Fees ; ( At Actuals)
Living Allowance; ( Approximately 147,000 JPY per month)
Airfare; ( Only once during entire scholarship period)
Insurance;
Other allowance in accordance with the regulation of JICA.

1. Find out your
prospective destinations
(thru Univ.Web site or
materials) which provide
the course in English
2. Read the notification
carefully and Download
the application form (or
request to the project)
3. Fill out the application
and list of prospective
destinations attached
4. Submit the above to the
project by 20th
December , 2018.

Important Instructions
1. Students should search for their prospective supervisor by
themselves through University websites.
2. After the project announces the date for application for “Naidaku”
informal consent, students should contact their 1st prospective
supervisor for naidaku and obtain the same before due date.
3. In case of no response from 1st prospective supervisor, student
should wait for instructions from project to contact 2nd prospective
supervisor.
4. Once accepted by the prospective supervisor, student cannot change
his option of either course, supervisor or University.
Should fill A2 A3 form and submit to JICA India Office when asked for.
Should undergo medical test in hospital in Hyderabad at your own cost
Should handover original passports before going on summer vacation to home towns.
