The Association of Professional Chemists and Chemical Engineers of Malawi (APCCEM)One of the major outputs of the dialogue between the Chemistry Department (University of Malawi) and the Chemical Industries.Formed in April, 2001 to foster partnership and cooperation between the Universities and industry in order to enhance the quality and relevance of chemistry and chemical engineering professions in Malawi.

To promote the advancement of chemistry and chemical engineering as branches of science and technology and their application in agriculture, process manufacturing, environment, nutrition, medicine and health for the socio‐economic development of the Malawi nation.

Concluding RemarksIn Malawi, Chemistry is the basis of all science since it is the matter around which society, industry and development revolves.Development of chemistry over the decades has had a direct impact on social economic development and the growth of Industry.It is therefore fitting that industry and users of chemistry come together occasionally to take stock of the development of the profession
