The Challenge

A city of 582,819 people, Milwaukee is a hub of the Midwest. A population encompassing college students, working professionals, families, the urban poor, the homeless, and more, the city is a cross-section of the world’s population contained within 100 square miles.

In a city of 582,819…

128,803 live below the poverty level2,440 slept on the street last night80,433 dropped out of High School 56,873 are children growing up in single-parent homes1,790 are High School girls with a newborn infant4,080 underwent an abortion in the past 12 months5,289 were victims of a violent crime committed this year783 were arrested within the last year on prostitution charges

528,034 do not attend any Christian church, making Milwaukee the largest unreached people group in Wisconsin

Milwaukee is home to over 85,000 students studying at 29 colleges and universities.

Only 3,400 of these students attend any church.

“Forget everything you learned about the New Testament. Jesus was a homosexual and a magician." - Philosophy Professor, Southeastern College

Nationwide, nearly 600,000 alcohol-related injuries, 96,000 sexual assaults, and 1700 deaths occur each year among college students.

During a time when students are searching for meaning in alcohol, relationships, and philosophy, the church cannot afford to be silent.

The Challenge: the campus

More than any other Wisconsin city, Milwaukee is a gathering place for the cultures and ethnicities of the world.

232,545 black or African-American residents91,502 Hispanic immigrants 20,398 Asians19,815 recent Russian immigrants750 refugees from Myanmar fleeing genocide

While missionaries spend thousands of dollars and years of training to bring the Gospel to the nations, the nations have literally gathered in our backyard.

The Challenge: all of creation

The City: We desire to see the city of Milwaukee transformed as Jesus transforms the hearts of people, one person at a time.

The Campus: We desire to make an impact on the campus and rescue students from alcohol, sexual promiscuity, and hopelessness, launching them into the Kingdom of God.

All of Creation: Ultimately, we desire to see the Gospel preached to all of creation, wherever there are hurting people, starting with the streets and homes of Milwaukee.

Our Vision for Milwaukee

Page 10: Presentation lancour

• Evangelism teams heading out to the streets, malls, festivals, beaches, and neighborhoods of Milwaukee.

• Mercy ministry and service projects to show love to the poor, homeless, widowed, and uprooted of the city.

• Small group Bible studies to disciple followers of Christ.

• Solid Rock Ministry Training School classes to train disciples to be effective in ministry and missionary work.

• Citywide prayer and worship gatherings to draw the body of Christ together to seek God for the sake of our area.

Our Methods

Page 11: Presentation lancour

Currently, I am a full time missionary working out of Cornerstone Church. I have been living off of the monthly support I've raised so far and the special gifts that people have given since June.

My desire is to be able to continue to be fully committed to the work God has prepared for me in Milwaukee.

To be able to give myself completely as a missionary to my city, I am looking for the team of ministry partners God has prepared for me who will commit to carrying my burden with me in prayer and financial support.

My goal is to raise an entire salary of $1,000 a month, which would allow me to be free to minister to the needs of the city.

I am seeking those who share my heart for Milwaukee and are willing to support me with monthly donations, in order to help me meet my goal.
