Analysis of preliminary task My contribution to the preliminary task was to do the storyboard and help with the script. During the preliminary task, the things I believe went well were the acting roles taken up by the people in the group who had no visible acting skills in a previous setting so the way in which they had adapted to the change was something which I feel went very well. Another aspect of the preliminary task that had gone well was the different type of shots that Vinay had taken. Even with his directing tactics, he had not allowed for a single mistake to be shown so he made the actors repeat the scene multiple times in different angles to take on the best possible looking scene. One thing I felt didn’t go so well and something I found quite difficult was trying to finalize the final copy of the storyboard which was not up to my standard satisfaction. In a few shots I noticed a few mistakes regarding the door. In one shot the door was open and in the next it was closed. We noticed this after watching the edited clip. To improve this I would suggest paying more attention to the details so that such minor details don’t affect the final edit. There was also another issue with the script. While shooting particular scenes, the actors happened to forget their lines, ended up saying the other persons lines or just added extra lines of their own and making it up. The way they had to say the lines also caused a problem as it was quit hard to get them to be serious and casual at the same time. To improve this, I would tell the actors to rehearse their lines in front of each other so that they know what they should expect from each other while filming as well.
