OverviewAccording to ESHRE, “crude overall pregnancy rates of 50-65% per patient can be achieved nowadays, irrespective of the type of pro fertility treatment applied first but IVF only accounts for about 20% of the pregnancies achieved. Currently there is no consensus on a single protocol to be preferred to another one”. There is inconsistent knowledge on the application of protocols for controlled ovarian stimulation (COS): hormonal as well as functional and genetic biomarkers, individualized approach to COS or the use of LH in COS. Furthermore, the patients with poor ovarian response represent, even now, one of the most difficult subgroups for ART treatment. Nowadays, a new category of patients based on age and ovarian reserve has been suggested for defining reproductive prognosis and identifying the most appropriate therapeutic strategy. On the other hand, andrology and reproductive genetics may benefit many subgroups of infertile patients concerning their reproductive outcome. Moreover, implementing a quality management system in ART clinics and laboratories plays a key role in improving results. All these aspects may contribute to an increase the success rates in IVF. The aim of this live educational course is to provide new insight into these topics. An interactive programme with lectures followed by discussions and specific case studies will offer attendees up-to-date knowledge and the opportunity to share experiences among peers and experts.

Learning objectivesBy attending this conference, participants will be able to:•Apply evidence-based recommendations to achieve an optimal

management for different subgroups of patients during ART •Identify the most appropriate management of poor responder

and poor prognosis patients •Understand the physiology of LH and its role in ovulation induction •Evaluate the contribution of andrology and reproductive

genetics in improving ART outcome•Recognize the importance of implementing a Quality Management

System and risk management in the ART clinic and laboratory
