The brief for this task was to go and professionally

interview a member of the public and get their opinion on the following questions: 1. Should we pay for music when we can download it for

free? 2. Are teenagers to reliant on technology? 3. Is the Paralympics more or less important than the

Olympics?

First Interview – Oliver

This interview was a mediocre interview, it is all right but there

is still a few problems. First of all the Mise en scene is not as

good as in interview could be, it is outside in a random place

which isn't really relevant to anything that is said in the video. Secondly, sound. As the video is shot outside, there is a lot of

extra noise, for instance the wind is easily picked up in videos

that are shot outside. If I had filmed it in the inside of a building it would have been much better as you would able

hear the person speaking more clearly. Or if it were a must, to be shot outside it would have been better to hear the person

speaking if we had used a microphone. The talking space could

have been a bit better as he is just positioned in the middle of the shot and is talking directly to the camera, if we positioned

him correctly it would have looked more professional. Again,

the Mise en scene in this interview is quite rubbish as there are various houses, cars and passers-by in the background it

doesn’t look as professional as it could, if we thought about

this a bit better we could have interviewed him in a office which would look more professional and appealing. Also in this

interview, as it is not your conventional interview, there isn't

an interviewer, just an interviewee answering questions, so this means that without the interviewer there isn’t a chance for

'eyeline match', if there was I think it would have made

the interview even better.

Interview two- Chloe

Our second interview is much better than our first one, this is

because everything is thoroughly thought out and we have

used various conventions in this one, for example cutaways.

The cutaways used in this interview are perfect/relevant to everything said at that moment in time. The interviewee is

speaking about technology amongst teenagers and the

cutaway is of a teenage girl with a Blackberry and an iPhone sat in front of a computer, those cutaways are perfect as they

are extremely relevant to everything that is being said. Also

when the Olympics question is being asked we cutaway to a picture of the Olympic symbols. Another convention we added

into this interview is Mise En Scene, this Mise En Scene in this

interview; I think is completely relevant as it is in an office which makes it look much more professional and appealing. In

this interview there is headroom and talking space, the

interviewee is sat to a side so it looks as if she is speaking to another person, instead of her sitting in the middle and talking

directly to the camera. Mise En Scene is very good as they are

inside there is no extra sounds, you are able to hear their voices perfectly clear. Another thing that makes this improved

interview better that the first one is that there is a matching

eyeline.
