“I never saw myself as a university person. I still wanted to learn, but was keen to start earning as well, so the apprenticeship route was a good option for me. I have never looked back. I would definitely recommend apprenticeships to people who want to develop hands-on skills alongside qualifications – it is a good route into an enjoyable and fulfilling career.”

WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY
Emily, Veterinary Nursing"I have had some fantastic tutors from both veterinary nursing and animal welfare. All of them have been unbelievably supportive; they’ve been great at helping us understand assignments and referencing systems as well. They’ve also given us lots of support with getting placements as they have some really good links with industry."

FE STUDENT AWARDS
Sachin, an A-level student was the Rugby College Student of the Year 2017.“I went to another sixth form for a year, but it wasn’t for me and while I left with experience, I think I’ve thrived much more at college. You’re treated more as an adult here which gives you the power to be more independent. The teachers have been so supportive - they’re good at spotting where you’re going right and encouraging you. They’ve also helped me gain work experience placements and given me lots of advice and help with interviews.”
Sachin is now at Edinburgh University, studying architecture.

The Government’s Prevent strategy places a duty on Further Education Colleges to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism. WCG fully adheres to this duty and ensures that staff and students receive appropriate advice and support to understand the risks associated with radicalisation and extremism.
