Product Walkthrough [email protected]

Frame your shot with projected guidelines and capture photos with the press of a button.

Using the Kickstand [email protected]

Switch to projector mode with the scroll knob and pop out the kickstand by pulling outwards.

Project images anywhere you want and let your creativity take care of the rest.

Charging via Micro USB [email protected]

Connect to a computer to offload images or add your own while recharging the internal battery.

Brainstorming on Pico-Projectors [email protected]

I based the theme of the product on sea creatures to evoke a sense of whimsy around the concept of projecting light.

Page 9: Portfolio Sept. 2012

Pocket-sized Device Form Exploration [email protected]

After limiting the scope to only pocket-sized devices, I arrived at a design that looked like a jellyfish or a squid.

Page 10: Portfolio Sept. 2012

2D Concept Refinement [email protected]

Refining the design further, I went with a kickstand mechanism for positioning the light projection.

Page 11: Portfolio Sept. 2012

Surface Refinement & Button Layout [email protected]

After creating a paper mockup, I lengthened the body of the device to leave more room to grip without covering the lenses.

Watch for the Blind Design Concept

Page 14: Portfolio Sept. 2012

Concept Sketching [email protected]

I came up with this watch concept while designing a money-reader for the blind and decided to focus on the watch function exclusively.

Page 15: Portfolio Sept. 2012

A rubber-polymer watch strap makes it easy for people with limited dexterity to put on the watch without dealing with small latches.

Product Walkthrough [email protected]

Page 16: Portfolio Sept. 2012

The watch is read by feeling the position of the leading edge of each hand. The dots around the face indicate the hours.

Tool-free battery replacement [email protected]

With the ability to replace the battery without tools, this design gives a blind user a greater degree of freedom than a standard watch.

Keyboard Design Project

Working with an independent tech entrepreneur, I designed a keyboard inspired by Apple products.

Page 20: Portfolio Sept. 2012

The client requested the aesthetics of the iPhone 4 to be used as a starting point, so I broke down the elements that make up the iPhone and other similar products to further define the design direction. Design Positioning Boards

Design Inspiration & Sketches [email protected]

With client input, I created three keyboard designs based on aspects of several Apple products.

Inspiration Board, 2007 Crown [email protected]

My design team was tasked with designing an nature-themed crown with as much visual impact as the 2007 Miss USA Crown (pictured right).

Page 25: Portfolio Sept. 2012

Concept Development [email protected]

We explored many different themes and shapes that would express the elegance and beauty of nature.

Scale Model in Paper and Wire [email protected]

A wire and paper model helped to determine the scale of the crown before I created a 3d CAD model in Rhino.
