T he s ite is located in windmil l h i l l park, near a r iver in a lexandr ia . There are res ident ia l bui ld ings around the park. From west to eat , the s i te is a l i t t le s lope hi l l , the d iffrence is 16 feet . I am thinking about the k inder-garten wi l l set bes ide the hi l l , have two f loors, the second f loor is on the hi l l s ide. So the k indergarten wi l l not b lock the v iew of people from the west to the park.

T he opening on the wal l lead people a way to go to the park . The en-trance for the k indergarten is on the r ight s ide and the tower is on the left . I f you stand on the entrance area, you can see the s loped garden connected to the park, you can go down to the park through the sta ir on the s ide of the garden.

A lice fa l ls down in a rabbit hole suddenly, which is a long way to a cur i -ous hal l with many locked doors of a l l s izes. She f inds a smal l key to a door, dr inks a bott le of water and becomes smal ler , goes through the door, then she sees a wonderful garden.

I l ike this story, exper iencing a bui ld ing is l ike exper iencing the adven-ture.

A bel l tower to the west of the k indergarten is a g i ft for the chi ldren. When the k ids cross the br idge, they exper ience the nature outs ide, the wind, ra in, a i r and l ight .

W hen people get to the balcony of the tower, they r ing the bel l on the wal l , with the rope hanging down.

B e in the tower, skyl ight come from the top window, as an angle of the sun. Parents and chi ldren could have meet ing in the space.

T here is a movie theater in the basement level of the tower. Chi ldren can get into the theater from the ground level of k indergarten or go down the sta irs from the tower. Harry Potter is showing!

g o into the thick wal l , everyone exper ience diffrent structure of the wal l . When the structure change, i t creates d iffrent uses, br idge, window, book shelf , doorway. There is a lways surpr ise when people walk in the bui ld ing, l ike our l i fe is a lways d iffrent everyday.

e every bakery has i ts own story. This bakery owned by a ret i red chemist and an unemployed baker, located in the corner of the street. They own their own house and nine apartments for rent. The owners go to k itchen ear ly in the morning, customers come and buy the bread in the store, tenants l ive in the apartments. So this bakery is d iv ided into four parts , the owners’ hous-es, apartments, k i tchen and store.

A day in th is bakery is a specia l exper ience in the l i fe . Four parts are around a cout-yard as a center part . Two wal ls on the partr ick street create open space for coffee outs ide, which keep people’s memory for Misha coffee shop here before. I t a lso open the v iew of coutyard to the street.

S tair is not something people go out of a story, but go into the story. The owers’ houses are in the southwest corner in the apartment bulding. What connect the k itchen and owner’s houses is a br idge across the coutyard. It is not just a beaut i fu l v iew in the coutyard, but a transit ion from pr ivate house to publ ic space.

I n the middle of bakery, there is a book shelf which have two f loors h igh. L ight come through the window on the book shelf , and go into the buiding. A sta ir is between the shelf , people go on the sta ir between the shelf , have a coffee on the second f loor, read books they l ike and enjoy the v iew in the courtyard.
