Cutting the rocksAccomodations and homeless people hostel in Boulogne
_Homeless people hostel and 101 accomodations (social housing and property ownership).
_Site: Boulogne.
_Area: 14 800 m².
_Duration: from january 2014 to january 2016.
_Studies from Conceptual Design phase to Construction Documents phase.
_Four rocks in an urban landscape.
_The rocks were cut to create the views and to fit the city urban rules. It creates porosity and
reduces building density in the middle of thie block to increase the vegetation.
_The cuts in these rock-buildings creates different triangular faces in the facades. In the
ground floor, bevels open the view for pedestrians. In the upper levels, these triangles reveal
long terraces creating diversity at the top of the buildings which is required by urban rules.
_The homeless people hostel is located in the biggest building ground floor and has a
private garden.
_The majority of accomodations are double oriented and have a terrace or a balcony.
_The four buildings facades follow the same principles to keep urban consistency.
_All the facades are covered by tiles except the East ones which are composed of filters
created by brick moucharabieh.

Erosion through the blockMixed-use building in Montpellier
_Block composed by accomodations, offices and shops.
_Site: Pablo Picasso square in Montpellier.
_Area: 55 000 m².
_Duration: January & February 2014.
_Competition.
_The volumes initially imposed were sculpted to answer local climatic features (wind,
sunshine...) and to open views through the block. The center of the block is more natural
thanks to an inner garden.
_In the street side, the volumes remain as specified in the brief to follow the same
alignments as the neighbourhood in order to garantee the urban insertion.
_The block is more open to the South to let the summer winds in and is more closed to the
North to prevent from the cold winter winds.
_The block is more porous on the sunny sides, the inside of the buildings is protected from
overheating thanks to the terraces cantilever. They block the summer sunbeams and allow
in the winter ones.
_The volumes cuts prevent projected shadows from a building to another and garantee
intimacy inside the appartments.

A walkway from the city to the canalTheater and drama arts school nearby the canal (Graduation project)
_ To create connections thanks to architecture where infrastucture blocks it.
_ Theater, drama arts school, restaurants and facilities (total of 9000m²).
_ Site: North of Paris at the intersection of Saint Denis Canal with Paris ring road.
_ Duration: 4 months from March 2013.
_ The canal was built in the XIXth for industries. Nowadays, all the factories have been
closed and the area is slightly changing. The project aims to extend this canal redeve-
lopment to the north, renovating of an industrial revolution era building into a theater. Its
entrance is on the avenue via the new part: conexion to the past of the site.
_ The roof of the new building creates a link between the city and the quay. People can
join the quays from the avenue thanks to a disable-friendly path.
_ Different theater topics are taught in the school such as acting, staging, costumes,
scenery, prop and make-up lectures. Spaces are adapted for each one ( very high
under ceiling for the scenery studio for example).

Site plan - Creation of a path which links the canal to the city and extension of the linear forest. 27
Context: there is no link between the avenue and the riverside because of a 6 meters height difference.
The roof creates a path between the canal and the city. Two entrances: one for the school and the other one for the theater on the avenue.
28
Extrusion of the center of the building to create a courtyard in order to maximize daylight in the building.
Renovation of the building from the Industrial Revolution period maintains the memory of the canal history.Division of the building to create a link between the park and the avenue.

Guides through complexityAirport Terminal in Haikou.
_ To deal with the size and the complexity of an airport terminal (300 000 m²).
_ To work with a structural engineer student from Ponts et Chaussées school (ENPC
Paris)
_ Site: Haikou in the island of Hainan, China.
_ Duration: 3 months from November 2012.
_ Guide the passengers in the airport complexity using the light created by the porosity
of the roof.
_ 3 main types of spaces are identified: the main hall (departures and arrivals), an
intermediate space with the concessions and the boarding hall.
_ Each main space has its identity: the ambiences, roofs, volumes, views and lights are
different from one entity to another. They create the passengers transition from the city
to the airport.
BRIEF
CONCEPT
A rectangular block is first divided according to the programs and their pro-portions, then to the main ways the passengers can take. The spaces which deal more with the collectivity - the main and the boarding halls - stay as one piece. The north facade is longer than the south one then some parts are deleted in the north to increase planes parking spaces.

_ Site: Aulnay-sous-Bois, Paris suburb, France.
_ Duration: 4 months from March 2012.
_ Each inhabitant can grow their own vegetables thanks to the plugs added on the
South facade.
_ Rainwater is collected to supply the plugs gardens.

BRIEF
CONCEPT
_Design of a building type and spaces having a specific function or use which is related
to the sea
_Site: Youghal, Irlande..
_Duration: 4 months from january 2011.
_Two types of bath: the morrocan and the turkish ones.
_The morrocan hammam is composed by 2 very big baths of different temperatures.
Usually it is a community space where people meet and talk. This is the reason why
there is a big main space with diffuse light for this collective space.
_Subdivisions are minimum in the collective space.
_The moucharabieh facade of the collective space can open to view the landscape.
_The turkish hammam is composed by smaller spaces inside the pods for private
functions (steam and massages) and between the pods for rest.
_The privacy is garanteed by the moucharabieh (perforated timber windows).
