Croatia adopted a binary system of higher education in which• the academic study programmes

(based on research) and • professional study programmes

(originating from research) are developed side by side, the latter having a lot of practical training, and having teachers who are recognized as experts in their field and taking a considerable part in the country’s economy.




Polytechnic of Zagreb was founded in 1998 by the Government of

Croatia to develop the professional technical study programmes with a 40 years tradition
