InstrumentThe Dutch organ builder Strunkbuilt the immense organ in the
Amsterdam City movies theatre inthe 1935. The instrument is stillin use today for concerts. Theinstruments consists of threerooms. The main room counts 11ranks of pipes, the first Soloroom has 7 ranks and the 2ndSolo room had 8 additional ranks, but was lost 10 years ago. Thepicture above shows the paying table and the pipes in the Strunk organ factory in 1934.All ranks were chromatically sampled, capturing the true nature and character of each
pipe. Samples are 10 to 15 seconds long with perfect loops to enable playing of unlim-ited length of notes. The true release sound of the organ pipes was also recorded and isreproduced upon key-release. This feature produces natural sounds as never experi-enced before. All programs have 50 multisamples recorded in stereo, with the true release reverbera-tion tail recorded in the theatre. The programs are around 100 MB each, making thetotal size of these individual stops 1.4 GigaBytes.
Post Theatre Organs
MAIN ORGAN INSTRUMENTS
There is a GigaStudio performance file called "main" that contains all main instrumentfiles laid out over the 12 first midi channel, making is easy to audition and stacks allthese sounds.

SOLO INSTRUMENTS
To combine several stops simultaneous there are two methods.1 Use layers in your sampler2. Use multiple midi-channels
NOTEBoth methods will suffer from the maximum polyphony limitation that is typical for yourspecific computer set-up. Each note played on a Post Theatre Organs stop eats up 4voices (2 for the stereo sample and 2 for the stereo release sound). Playing an 8 voice
choral passage uses 32 voices, when you use one single program. When you layer twosounds this amount is doubled. When playing 4 programs at the same time each keyrequires 16 voices! A 10 voice chord will max out any system when 4 or more soundsare layered.

the Post Organ Toolkit
The POSTORGAN collection is the largest and most versatile collection of high qualityorgan samples in the whole world. The 113 programs are approx. 1,500 samples (over300 MB); all perfect sounding, cleanly looped, most in full stereo.
This complete collection guarantees that you will find the exact sound youre looking
for. By combining several programs simultaneously you can create every possible regis-tration any organ can produce!
The collection consists of 5 blocks;
1/ Solo Instruments section & Tutti& Plenums
The ORGAN of the Big BAVO in HAARLEM.
A very famous Dutch organ sounds ranging from Tutti, Fonds, Mixtures, Bourdons,Anches, Cornets, Hobo, Clarinet, Dulciane to Voix Celestes . And separate programs forpedals.
2/ MAX
From the Big BAVO ORGAN and CONCERTGEBOUW ORGAN (AMSTERDAM)
12 programs with very long stereo samples, 30 key-zones multisampling. This is a per-fect set for recordings and true perfectionists.
These programs are extremely realistic and most impressive.
Plenum, Tutti, Principal, Positif, Baroque Plenum, Hauptwerk mix and Hauptwerk stop,Brustwerk, Flutes, Cornet, Symphonic Plenum and Plenum Reeds.
3/ CONCERTGEBOUW ORGAN (Maarschalkerweerd & zoon 1891)
The sounds were sampled from the famous organ of the CONCERTGEBOUW in AMSTER-DAM. This is a beautiful and very useful collection of mono samples.
35 different. Perfect for modern music.
4/ POST ITALIAN
6 basic, mono programs from a very fine Italian organ.5/ EMULATIONS
26 programs of digital re-synthesis organ emulations of real organ sounds. Very con-venient if you want to save on RAM memory in your sampler or if you to mix some extracharacter to sampled organ material.
Add REVERB !!!
Perhaps the most important aspect of church organs sound characteristic is the sound of
the space where the organ is playing. All the samples on this CD-ROM are recorded asclean as possible. It gives you the important job of adding reverb. Use a reverb proces-
sor that is the absolute best you-can-get for best results.
Be creative !!!

Post Harpsichords
The French Double-manual
We made the choice for this instrument because the mid-18th century French styleharpsichord represents the most successful "general" purpose instrument. The instru-ment is suitable to all of the harpsichord literature of the baroque.A double-manualinstrument of elegant proportion and detail having a range of five octaves, FF-f''' (61notes). There are three ranks of jacks and three choirs of strings, 2 x 8', 1 x 4', with abuff stop which can be installed on either the back 8' choir or the upper-manual 8'. Therecording of this instrument was done in a nice room, which adds to the characteristicsound of the harpsichord.
The French Harpsichord The Flemish Double-manual
A fine example of the full blown antique Flemish harpsichord. Very popular for the fullrepertoire, with a flexible, clear resonant tone, making it an ideal concert instrument.Double manual, FF-f3 chromatic, 2 x 8' + 1 x 4', shove coupler, buff to lower 8'.

Post Virginal
The Presets
Virginal soft release and Virginal loud release are exactly what they seem. The releasesound (when you release a key) was recorded at different volumes and each variation iscaptured in these programs.
The Virginal 8' + 4' instrument offers the instrument coupled with its sound an octavehigher. This Gig offers soft and loud release variations.
Virginal muted is a muted variation of the instrument and also offers an octave higher.
Virginal FX sounds, FX harps and Special Harpsichord Instrument offer special filter andother parameter settings that produce wonderful sounds based upon the virginal sam-ples.
Post Fortepiano
After about 1800 the fortepiano was gradually replaced almost as completely as it hadreplaced the harpsichord. Essentially, although the term "fortepiano" was still sometimesused, the actual instrument came more and more to resemble the modern piano. The price of a new fortepiano reconstruction is high, the instrument requires frequenttuning, and the number of keys is considerably less than is the case for the modernpiano. It is therefore not satisfactory as a general-purpose piano. As a result, it is still
difficult for most pianists, amateur or professional, to gain personal experience with thevery special qualities of this instrument which was so popular in Vienna more than200 years ago. With the present disk there is now available a sampled fortepiano, and we no longer cansay that the acoustic instrument is indispensable tothe ability of a pianist attempting to create thesound of a Haydn sonata on the fortepiano.
This important historic keyboard was sampled with3 velocity layers and has several presets to choosefrom. There are several filtered variations, a mod-
erator patch and one sustain only preset.
The instrument sampled is a restored Walther, sam-pled in a small room, adding a little ambience.

Post Estonia
This full size 9' model is hand made, has Renneractions assembled at Renner in Germany, birch rims,Delignit pin blocks, Abel hammers...among otherdesirable technical features, which it turn create thetone, touch and stability that is Estonia.
The Presets
The instrument was sampled with 4 layers of velocity(both pedal up and pedal down) also 4 layers of ve-locity were used to capture the release key action ofthis piano. The 15 instrument variations give theoptions of playing the piano with sustained notesonly (!), no sustained notes, no release layer, special'dark' settings
Post AccordionsPOST ACCORDIONS is the most complete and usable collection of accordion samplesavailable! There are full chromatic multi-sampled instruments of a Hohner Morino, anAccordiana, a Concertina, a Paolo, a Parrot .Program details:- PAOLO ITALY. An old and characteristic instrument. The largest Piano accordion in thisset. 34 treble notes. Perfect for ZYDECO. -- PAOLO SAX (the 8 foot registration, almost no vibrato)- PAOLO MUSETE (very convincing vibrato, full tone, clear and versatile...)CONCERTINA: a beautiful and very expensive new Concertina made by STAGI. Very
smooth and agile instrument, originally designed for classical music, but very suited forfolk music and choral song accompaniment. Its hexagonal shape made me love theinstrument right away..- ACORDIANA:button accordeon (often called button box, squeeze box or melodeon).- PARROT :This is a very cheap and old instrument, with a very personal sound. Seriouslyout of tune, charming as can be...- HOHNER 16 This is basically the 16 foot registration from the beautiful HOHNERMORINO. I recorded all white keys. So there were 26 stereo samples. First partition isstereo (30 MB). I made several programs, with and without additional LFO vibrato, withand without artificial stop and beginning note clicks . Listen to the keys being pressedand released...!
- HOHNER MUSETTE This is a 3x 8 foot registration on the MORINO. All reeds are a littlebit differently pitched, giving a very beautiful vibrato. Also several programs with LFOand additional click- HOHNER TUTTI 16+8+4 ft. (30 Mb) Same story as above but the 16 foot+8 foot+4foot registration.
Church BellsThe worlds first tuned church bells. The programs contain over 30 churchbell samples. Some are spread chromatically over the keyboard. Others make a carillion, where onebell can be played over a large keyboard range. Another patch offers great sonic control
over the timbre by playing at different velocity levels.
AnvilsThis disc contains a collection of high quality ANVIL samples. More than 25 differentanvils or other large metal objects were recorded and processed in ProTools.

Post Piano Suite
The Post Steinway D Concert Grand piano is a 8-layer chromaticly sampled Steinway D,with seperate samples for sustain-pedal down notes. This brilliant instrument was sam-pled using the best microphones, convertors and recording equipment, resulting in anincredible piano sound.
The PostPreparedPiano contains 14 special instruments. The Full PreparedPiano for JGage's Music for Prepared Piano is the prescribed registration with all the bolds andscrews between and over the Steinway C piano strings. The Pedal piano is another regis-tration we made for John Cage's music. Other presets are: GongPiano (really sounds likegongs but are piano strings!), Knock (when you hit the piano real hard with the pedaldown), Paper (pieces of newspaper between the high strings), Lood (pieces of metalbetween the strings), Scrape (using a coin to scrape along a low note string) and otherscomplete this collection of unusual and very usable piano sounds. The Orchestral Instruments contains several classic keyboard/orchestral percussioninstruments: Celesta (One of the most beautiful instruments was sampled in the orches-tra pit at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam), Glockenspiel (The file is small but has a
very strong and bright tone), RegisterPiano (A historic recording of a remark-able and truely unique instrument),Harmonium, Hackbrett, Marimba andVibraphone complete this collectionThe SimplePianoCollection contains thefour basic playing styles captured in oneinstrument each. Forte, Pianissimo,Fortissimo and MezzoForte played sam-ples are used to create very playablepiano's. These instruments are perfect

The GRANDIOSO Pianos
These libraries provide the greatest possible control during the softest pianissimo, through crescendos to the reserves of power needed for the loudest fortissimo. Utilizingnew technology to optimise the mechanical performance of the action, Post MusicalInstruments BV has created a product which leaves the pianist in total control of dynamic
response, timbre and touch. The Bsendorfer 290 library gives you the control over theexact position of the microphone perspective. You have both Dry and Wet mics andhave the option to mix them to match the sound you want to create.
UpdatesFree updates for the GRANDIOSO libraries are available for registered users on our com-pany websitewww.postpiano.comwhere a guide can be found explaining how to installthe updates.
Your GRANDIOSO library will serve you for years, just like e real instrument. We willsupply major upgrades (which need new DVDs or CDs) when they become available at
minimal costs.
GRANDIOSO Bsendorfer 290
The incomparable Imperial Concert Grand is arguablythe finest piano available anywhere today. Acclaimedby the Worlds top artists, it is a joy to hear and play. The Imperial has one of the largest sound boards of
any concert instrument, being some 30% larger thanmost typical recital pianos. This helps to produce theimmense dynamic range for which the piano is fa-mous. No matter how loudly it is played, it respondswithout loss of sound quality, and there are alwaysgreat reserves and a vast range of tonal colours andexpression.
The Piano Patches
The instruments can be divided into 2 categories: dry and wet. Depending on your li-brary you have one or both categories.
DRY Dry B290 8 basic. The basic dry patch. You can use the modulation wheel on your
master keyboard to control the EG release time settings. With the wheel all the waydown the release time is short (approx. 0.2 sec in the middle octaves and 0.4 in thebass) with the wheel up the release time is raised with 0.9 sec.
Dry B290 8-layer no release * Same as above but without the release ambiencesamples. This reduces the polyphony load and sounds very dry.
Dry B290 8-layer long release * Same as basic dry patch but with more focus onthe release ambience samples.
Dry B290 8-layer LP Filter * Same as basic 8 layer dry patch but with an additionalvelocity controlled low pass filter to allow a mellow tone.

WET Wet B290 8-layer + sustain (prog. Nr 0) * Basic wet patch. Wet B290 8-layer + release (prog. Nr 2) * Basic wet patch but with release samples. Wet B290 4-layer + release (prog. Nr 3) * Wet patch which has both release sam-
ples and separate sustain pedal up and down samples. Wet B290 16-layer (prog. Nr 4) * The smoothest 16 layer patch has all dimensions
used to allow the maximum number of velocity layers.
Wet B290 8-layer no release (prog. Nr 8) * Wet B290 8-layer (+ sustain) Low Pass Filter (prog. Nr 12) * Same as basic 8 layer
wet patch but with an additional velocity controlled low pass filter to allow a mel-low tone.
Wet B290 16-layer Low Pass Filter (prog. Nr 12) * Same as the 16 layer wet patchbut with an additional velocity controlled low pass filter to allow a mellow tone.

GRANDIOSO Steinway D (classic)
We recorded the best grand piano we could find. Steinway is THE grand piano for mostconcert pianists. This particular instrument is in premium condition, a Steinway modelD3 with serial number 393210 which was built in 1965. It was fully refurbished bySteinway Hamburg in 1999. This piano served the Rotterdam 'DOELEN' concert hall forseveral decades, where hundreds of famous musicians, from Claudio Arrau to the RollingStones, performed for live audiences and broadcast concerts.
This instrument is best suited for most contexts. It has more character and realism than
any other sampled piano we've heard. We used no processing other than level optimiza-tion, and a little eq to remove unwanted frequencies, (no limiting, no compression orexpansion), ensuring the purest piano sound possible. The samples have no loops, theyhave rich resonant pedal down samples, release-triggered soundboard resonance, andan amazingly wide dynamic range. Listen to the rich world of overtones beautifully cap-tured in these recordings.
It has 16 velocity groups based on 5 velocity recordings (PP, P, MF, F and FF) of pedal-upsamples, five velocity groups of pedal-down samples, and four velocity groups of relea-se-triggered samples. This patch offers additional control of the release triggered sam-ples via the modulation wheel. More modulation wheel attenuates the release samples,
while simultaneously lengthening the release time of the sustained sample. There is atime delay on the release samples (as shown in the picture) that influences the releasesample start point depending on the time the key is kept depressed. You can experimentwith these settings to adjust this effect to your own taste. You can adjust the release ofthe note on samples (to do so de-activate the EDIT ALL button and make sure you dontchange the release layer group).

GRANDIOSO Pop/Rock PianoYamaha C7 (Ambient)
The YAMAHA C7 is appearing on famous concert stages, international competitions andprestigious music events throughout the concert world.
The Yamaha C Series grand piano is by far the most popular piano that is versatileenough for pop, jazz and rock recording, yet is arguably expressive enough for success-ful traditional and classical recordings. The 7-foot, 4-inch model is my favorite poppiano, with a bright tone, strong overtones and a moderately strong bass. You comeacross a lot of these pianos in recording studios around the world and you will find themto be very consistent. A well-maintained Yamaha C7 almost always produces satisfyingrecording and performing results.
The Piano Patches
AMBIENT C7 + sustain* Basic ambient patch. It uses 8 velocity layers with sustainpedal up and 8 velocity layers with the sustain pedal down.
AMBIENT C7 + release * Same as parent patches but with release samples. AMBIENT C7 * Wet patch which has both release samples and separate sustain
pedal up and down samples.*modulation wheel controls release time

NEW RELEASES:
The Old LadyIn the PMI Old Lady history and future meet each other and the result is stunning!
In 1876 Theodore Steinway achieved to present the world with the first concert grand
piano that had a duplex scale, bent rim case, cupola iron frame and a special action to
lift enlarged hammers. When he died in 1889 he left behind a piano design that could
hardly be improved upon. The Steinway D is called THE grand piano by both musicians
and composers. The 1920s models are considered to be absolutely superior to any
piano produced after that date. I discovered this Old Lady in a lovely little village in Kent
(UK). The owner of this unique musical instrument has a collection of some 20 grandpianos in several sizes but chooses The Old Lady to stand in his living room.
The owner achieved to install a very high-tech mechanism in the piano designed by
Wayne Stahnke that operates the piano keys and pedals with more than 1.000 steps
accuracy and is controlled by a computer system. This allowed me to capture each ve-
locity layer of this perfect instrument with unequalled precision. By utilizing this new
technology to optimize the performance of the action, we have created a product which
leaves the pianist in total control of dynamic response, timbre and touch.
