Covenant’s Plug (or debris) Catcher is designed to recover large solid pieces that flow from a well during mill out operations of down hole plugs. Plug Catchers are normally positioned upstream of the choke manifold to prevent erosion damage of downstream equipment. Plug Catchers are part of the well control kit and are designed to meet API 6A specifications.

Covenant’s plug catchers contain perforated or slotted tubing screens, which are designed for 1.5 times flow. Well effluent flows through the screens, stopping solids larger than the perforations from being processed down the flow scheme to the choke manifold. Screens can be flushed clean, and removed from the plug catcher and replaced with new screens as needed.

Covenant Plug Catchers come in dual leg configurations. Dual legs allow flow to be switched from one leg to the other for various mill out process, thus allowing continuous, uninterrupted flow of the well. A 2 inch bypass line runs down the centre of the catcher if needed.
