We are delighted to return to Islington from our 29th season at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with a bumper Autumn harvest of theatre and comedy delights. The Pleasance in London has become the true festival venue with highlights this season including the third biennial Suspense Puppetry Festival. The Pleasance alongside a number of other theatres in London will present an extraordinary collection of puppetry work from across the UK and central Europe. Produced by Little Angel Theatre, Suspense Puppetry Festival is a showcase of contemporary work, exploding the myth that puppetry is just for kids.

Theatre highlights include New International Encounter (NIE) North North North, Andy Hinds brilliant one man play Morning and Afternoon and once again we are proud to be supporting new talent with shows by LAMDA, Shaky Isles Theatre and Hannah Silva.

No festival season would be complete without our Post Edinburgh Comedy Season with some of the best comedians from this year’s Fringe including Joseph Morpurgo, The Beta Males, Cariad & Paul and Rachel Parris alongside new work in progress shows by Carl Donnelly, Chris Martin and Helen O’Brien.

The final feast of slapstick fun for all the family at Christmas is the hilarious Peter Pan Goes Wrong. Following their West End debut and Edinburgh Festival hit The Play That Goes Wrong, Mischief Theatre present this classic tale with hysterically disastrous consequences.

We hope to see you soon.

LAMDAA Midsummer Night’s Dreamby William Shakespeare

29TH NOV - 5TH DEC 2PM, 3PM & 7:30PM TICKETS: FREE (NO BOOKING FEES)

LAMDAThe Revenger’s Tragedyby Thomas Middleton

Midsummer night: a time for love, magic and mystery. Four young lovers escape from the marriage matches that their parents are forcing upon them, fleeing from the city to the nearby woods. Here, unrestrained by the conventions of society – and with the mischievous King and Queen of the fairies wreaking high havoc – the young lovers slip into a dreamworld where anything seems possible.

One of Shakespeare’s best-loved comedies, A Midsummer Night’s Dream takes the audience on an enchanting journey, from order to chaos and back again.

One of the world’s leading drama schools, LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) provides vocational training for the next generation actors, directors, stage managers and technicians.

Half-crazed with grief for his murdered fiancée, Vindice, a poor gentleman on the fringes of a depraved court, exacts his revenge on the family who poisoned the love of his life. His vengeance is planned to perfection and breathtakingly bloody as he exposes the lies, vice and corruption of the court.

The Revenger’s Tragedy brutally satirises a political system dominated by sycophants and questions the ability of any individual to exact justice.

One of the world’s leading drama schools, LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) provides vocational training for the next generation actors, directors, stage managers and technicians.

Please note that this performance contains adult themes.

Shakespeare Schools Festival11TH - 14TH NOV 7PM£8.50 (£6.50 CONC)The Shakespeare Schools Festival is the UK’s largest youth drama festival and a unique arts-education initiative. Throughout the autumn, they work with 1,000 schools from across the UK, bringing forth their interpretations of Shakespeare to the stage.

A selection of primary and secondary schools from around North London will be showcasing their versions of: Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet, The Tempest, The Comedy of Errors, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, As You Like It and Julius Caesar.

‘SSF has done more than anyone to jazz up the once-dreary curricular approach to our greatest playwright.’ The Times

Hannah SilvaThe Disappearanceof Sadie Jones26TH - 30TH NOV 7:45PM£12 (£10 CONC)Lyricism, language play and poetic physical performance combine in this visceral and intuitive portrait of mental illness.

Drawing inspiration from Strindberg’s Dream Plays, the latest work from writer and theatre-maker Hannah Silva blends sound design, distinctive writing and innovative vocal techniques to depict the story of Sadie Jones: a young woman battling a desire to disappear from her own life. As she leads her sister and her boyfriend into the strange landscape of her subconscious, language breaks down, and expressionist motifs depict a struggle between the three, as those closest to her are pulled into the depths of her psyche.

Supported by the Arts Council England and the Jerwood Charitable Foundation. Developed through residences at Beaford Arts, CPT and the Bike Shed Theatre.
