Brother Alumni, I hope the New Year finds all of you well. Right now, it is a great time to be a Pike at Rockhurst University. We look forward to seeing everyone at Founders Weekend, the Golf Tournament, and the 20-year anniversary next fall. If you have a question, feel free to contact me at 314-681-6834. With Tau Kappa Epsilon kicked off campus for the next four years, Rush has changed and come down to Pike, Alpha Delta Gamma, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon. There are rumors of a new fraternity coming to Rockhurst. Regardless, Pikes continue to dominate Rush. Rockhurst has one of the highest Greek involvement percentages in the country at over 40%, and Pike remains the largest fraternity on campus by far. Rush chairman Nick Blair extended 38 bids to worthy men and 32 handed them back. That is close to an 85% return. Including the current pledges, the chapter size is 100. The class is made up of scholars, leaders, athletes,

and gentlemen. We believe that this group of men that make up the Alpha Theta pledge class will continue the legacy of success of Pi Kappa Alpha at Rockhurst.

• Ferd Niemann (Sigma ’04) was named Jackson County Assessor in October 2013. He will also graduate from UMKC Law School in May of 2014.

• Andy Axsom (Eta ’98) has accepted a position as the Director of Campus Development with OrgSync, a higher education technology company based in Dallas. Andy will help campuses expand their use of the OrgSync platform. Andy is working to complete his PhD in Higher Education from the University of North Texas.

• Rob Schaefer (Alpha Delta ’10) got engaged to Kalle Hoy on December 20th 2013. They plan to tie the knot in July of this year.

• Raymond Chander (Eta ’98) welcomed his first child, Matilda Morgan Chandler, into the world in February of last year. This January, he launched his campaign for State Representative of Missouri’s 88th District.

• Caleb Phillipi (Alpha Alpha ’08) is the C.O.O., controlling finance, strategy, customer service, and project management for Breifcase, a company that collects job opportunities from all over the web, putting them into one platform that’s white labeled through university career services centers.
