PIANO MUSIC RECORDINGS ON LP To the Editor:
I have been compiling a catalogue of piano music recordings (classical music) released on LP and EP discs in all countries. I have extracted data about piano recordings from the Schwann catalogues; the "Index to Record Reviews," appearing in Notes; The Long Player; Index to Record and Tape Reviews (Chulainn Press); the three volumes of The World's Encyclopaedia of Recorded Music, by Francis F. Clough and G. J. Cuming; and so forth. In addition to this, I collect catalogues and lists of record manufacturers, as well as discographies and relevant periodical literature on piano music.
I am seeking more material to fill gaps in my compilation and will buy and/or exchange catalogues and materials issued since 1950.

AMERICAN MUSIC HANDBOOK REVISED? To the Editor:
I am having preliminary discussions with the publisher regarding a new edition of The American Music Handbook (New York: Free Press/Macmillan, 1974).
It is the wish of the publisher to issue a revision every three years or so. Presently, I hesitate to commit myself, the size of the job being somewhat intimidating.
Since the volume has some apparent utility among music librarians of all kinds, it would be helpful to me to hear from as many librarians who care to write to me regarding any criticisms and suggestions they may want to offer concerning the first edition (1974).
Of greatest help would be comments on the organization of the book in terms of readability, information, and the usefulness of broad categories of entries.
The least helpful, at this time, would be comments concerning specific omissions and inclusions of items, for I should like to emphasize, as I do in the book's introduction, that the work can never be exhaustive and that all inclusions and omissions were, in a sense, deliberate. However, anyone should feel free to write to me what he or she will.
