ANU College of Arts & Social Sciences PhD and MPhil applications in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Graduate research degrees, Master of Philosophy (MPhil) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), are available in over 20 disciplines in the arts, humanities and social sciences. Pre-application Admission to a postgraduate research degree normally requires you to have completed an Honours degree (at Honours 2A or above), or equivalent prior studies (such as a Masters degree) that includes a research component. Generally it is assumed that you have completed your studies in a discipline related to the area in which you would like to do research. You are required to identify a potential supervisor for your MPhil or PhD as part of your application. Please email us details about your highest level of qualification and area of interest. We will then forward your expression of interest to the Graduate Research Convenor for your discipline. Application Once you have identified a potential supervisor you can lodge your application. Pre-application

Scholarships

Admission and scholarships for postgraduate research degrees are applied for together. You need to indicate as part

of your application for admission if you wish to be considered for a scholarship.

Applications for scholarships for international students close on 31 August each year, and for domestic students

close on 31 October each year.
