Please accept this letter and supporting documentation as our reasoning to appeal thedecision made on February 14, 2017.

While we are pleased that the board approved that our company sign can be erected onthe second storey of our building, we intended to erect the sign on the fifth floor of ourbuilding.

Our company occupies the entire fifth floor of 1018 Finch Avenue West. The rest of thebuilding is occupied by various tenants. The second floor in particular has numeroustenants. Should our sign be erected on the second storey of our building, it would createconfusion about where Bergel Magence LLP conducts business, and more importantly,would interfere with the tenants who conduct business on the second floor. Erecting thesign on the second storey would be doing a disservice to the tenants who have had along-standing relationship with the landlord.

You will find in the documents that follow, pictures of numerous businesses within a twokilometer radius of Bergel Magence LLP that have company signs at the top of theirrespective buildings. In particular, you will see our next door neighbor located at 1000Finch Avenue West, Goodlife Fitness, has a sign at the top of their building which isseveral storeys taller than our building. You will also see DeRose Barristers andSolicitors, a law firm located at 1280 Finch Avenue West, has company signs at the topof their building on both the east and west sides. We have also included pictures ofgeneral signage along Finch Avenue West.

You will also find in the documents that follow, an email from a fellow business owner inthe area who received a notice about our initial application. You will see that he ispleased to support our application, and takes no issues with the signage we intend toerect.

Due to the reasons mentioned above, we respectfully request that you reconsider yourdecision from February 14, 2017 and allow for Serge) Magence LLP to erect theircompany sign on the fifth floor of 1018 Finch Avenue West.
