Gerstenberg Schröder A/S

The brand GS is world leading within modern processing solutions for margarine, butter, spreads, ice cream, shortenings, filling creams, mayonnaise, dressings and sauces

Core product: Scraped Surface Heat Exchanger (SSHE)

Installed plants in over 120 countries

Has been in business since 1901 and family owned until 2010 when it was acquired by SPX

2009: 250 employees and 50 mEUR in revenue

Who was GS?1901: Mr Gerstenberg and Mr Agger establish Gerstenberg & Agger (G&A)as a consulting engineering company

1928: Mr Schröder establishes Schröder & Co (SCO) as an engineering company

1950’: SCO and G&A introduce SSHE for margarine production

2000: G&A acquires from the GEA group the Consistator® series

2004: G&A acquires SCO to form a dynamic alliance

2005: Gerstenberg Schröder A/S is now the operating company

2006: GS aquires Unitherm SSHE from Lödige

2008: GS and DS Engineering form a joint venture GS Automation

2008: GS aquires BDS Technology to gain market shares within butter processing

2010: SPX acquires GS and GS becomes part of SPX Flow Technology
