1.Application
2.Operating Principle
The Permanent Magnetic Drum Separator is most useful for the following applications:
(1) separating tramp iron from non-magnetic material processed in bulk quantity,
(2) assuring the purity of completed products,
(3) recovering metal having commercial value, and protecting of physical plant operations and machinery.
These units are widely used throughout the processing industry for separation of iron contaminants from minerals, chemicals,
food, flour, plastics, grains, sand, cement, fertilizers, abrasives, glass, slag, ores, rock, refractory clays and many other
materials.
The Permanent Magnetic Drum Separator consists of a stationery permanent magnetic assembly. This consists of a uniform,
long-lasting magnetic field across the entire width of the drum, which is effective over approximately half the drum
circumferences (as shown in Fig. 2).
A drum shell made of non-magnetic stainless steel revolves around the magnetic field. As the material is fed evenly from a
chute next to the drum,a powerful magnetic field attract sand holds ferrous particles to the revolving shell. As the revolving
shell carries the iron-based particles through the stationery magnetic field, non-magnetic material falls freely from the shell
while ferrous particles are firmly held and carried beyond the divider outside of the magnetic field.
The strength of the permanent magnetic drum is guaranteed to be greater than the corresponding electromagnetic drum. The
strength of the everlasting, permanent magnet material used does not diminish with normal operation and when properlyused, can be depended on throughout the lifetime of the units installation.

3.1 Application
3.2 Features
Mainly used for wet separation of ferromagnetic mineral-bearing titanomagnetite, semi-martite, and martite.
The permanent magnetic system is composed of strontium magnetic ferrite or high-energy, rare earth magnets.
The average magnetic-flux-density on the drums surface varies in the range of 0.10 to 0.60T.
Concurrent-flow, semi-counterflow, or counterflow troughs are available.
Stable separation, large processing capacity, and easy to maintain.
