    72 Packet Control Unit Measurement

    1 72 Packet Control Unit MeasurementThe PCU measurement gives BTS-level information on the functions in the Packet Control Unit (PCU).

    The counters of this measurement give information on the different phases of temporary block flows (TBF), including allocation requests, establishments, reallocations and, finally, TBF releases. A set of counters is triggered in each of these phases. Most of the counters are provided for uplink and downlink TBFs separately.

    Furthermore, this measurement contains counters for the number of radio link control (RLC) data blocks and bad frame indications during the measurement period. These counters are available for coding schemes CS1 and CS2 in uplink and downlink sep-arately. Another group of counters is provided for GPRS signalling transactions, such as paging and immediate assignment, as well as for certain failure situations.

    All the counters are updated to the normal area object of the BTS unless otherwise stated in the counter descriptions.
