Personal Statement
Always ready for a challenge, I have confidence and experience enough to approach new tasks or situations in a calm, positive way, knowing that success can be achieved given shared understanding and common desire - and the resilience to cope with difficulties.
I’m looking for an employer who wants a talented, bright employee, with a proven history of care, diligence and passion for helping people.

September 2000 - April 2016 Head teacher, Bridstow CE Primary School
• Provided ‘inspirational’ leadership for the school over 15 years.
• Developed staff, lead projects, successfully liaised with outside agencies in the public and private sector in all areas - employment, premises, health and safety, professional development.
April 1997 - August 2000 Deputy Head teacher, Ledbury Primary School
• Played major role in helping the senior management team to change the culture and ethos of the organisation to that of a more positive, affirming and consequently successful environment.
• Developed leadership skills in a high pressure, demanding environment. Coached, mentored and supported pupils, parents, staff and governors, showing resolution and integrity at all times.

• Gained employed in an challenging school, by one of the most ambitious head teachers in the locality. Learned quickly the need for diligence and resilience in the work place.
• Promoted to year team leader during my time, I became responsible for leading the planning and review of the work of colleagues for the first time.

Interests and Additional Information
• Creative and practical: I’m the Chair of X-entricity Youth Theatre Company, registered Charity no. 109746. I’m a member and leader of the set design and team and occasional performer.
• Healthy: My wife and I enjoy walking - completing the Cotswold Way last year, we’re planning to do the Wye Valley walk this year.
• Involved: I volunteer for Concern Universal, a charity that looks to eliminate poverty across the globe.
• At home, I like cooking (and eating), creating some mean pasta dishes in particular.
