Developed staff, lead projects, successfully liaised with outside agencies in the public and private sector in all areas - employment, premises, health and safety, professional development. April 1997 - August 2000 Deputy Head teacher, Ledbury Primary School Played major role in helping the senior management team to change the culture and ethos of the organisation to that of a more positive, affirming and consequently successful environment. Developed leadership skills in a high pressure, demanding environment. Coached, mentored and supported pupils, parents, staff and governors, showing resolution and integrity at all times. September 1987 - March 1997 Class teacher, Leominster Junior School Gained employed in an challenging school, by one of the most ambitious head teachers in the locality. Learned quickly the need for diligence and resilience in the work place. Promoted to year team leader during my time, I became responsible for leading the planning and review of the work of colleagues for the first time.

• Healthy: My wife and I enjoy walking - completing the Cotswold Way last year, we’re planning to do the Wye Valley walk this year.

• Involved: I volunteer for Concern Universal, a charity that looks to eliminate poverty across the globe.

• At home, I like cooking (and eating), creating some mean pasta dishes in particular.
