shaping of spatial order and infrastructure

Culture:

During breaks from business meetings, it is a good idea to take advantage of cultural offer of the city. Nothing puts a person into a cheerful mood better than great plays, staged in Wojciech Boguslawski Theatre. This place has captivating magic - perhaps because of over two hundred years of tradition and the historical building of the theater itself. It might also be because of the excellent theatre group. Every spring, there is the famous festival of acting: The Kalisz Theatre Meetings, which is the place to see the most riveting plays from Polish theaters from all over Poland, starring their most talented actors.

Kalisz is famous for a lot of great festivals. In addition to classical theater festival, there is also Street Theatre Festival (International Festival of Street Art "La Strada") and Contemporary Dance Festival (Contact Zone) and music events such as: International Festival of Jazz Piano, Paul Berger Festival that presents rock music, but also festival of Early Music "Schola Cantorum".

For those who enjoy good music at its best, there is the Philharmonic Symphonic Orchestra of Kalisz. It mesmerizes the audience with first-class performances of both classical and contemporary concerts. In addition, a wide range of concerts, performances and other events also take place in Culture and Art Center in Kalisz. It is also worth to visit Jan Tarasin Gallery of Art, Cultural Centre of Art - "Water Tower", or Tadeusz Kulisiewiecz Center of Drawings and Graphic Art.

Leisure:

Kalisz is a city with a unique atmosphere. Time passes much more slowly here than in big cities. It’s worth to take a walk along the streets of the historic city center, visit the churches where there are authentic treasures of culture to discover. Moreover, it is quite near to the city park - one of the oldest and most beautiful ones in Poland. Kalisz looks beautiful from above - you can find it out for yourself by visiting the observation deck in the tower of City Hall. For those who are interested in the history of the city, there is a mandatory visit to Kalisz Piast Settlement. In summer you can get there by Calisia boat.

A visit to the Regional Museum of Kalisz is also a good idea, the museum is full of relics and props, documenting the history of Kalisz, starting from its prehistory. However, if somebody prefers an active way of spending free time, the oldest city in Poland can offer a modern water park with many of its attractions.
