PARAMECIUM CAUDATUM (PROTIST)

• Small.• Unicellular• adult is approximately .25 mm

• Both asexually and sexually.• Under ideal conditions they reproduce asexually 2-3

times a day.• Normally only reproduce sexually under stressful

environment.

REPRODUCTION

• N/A only one cell.• Sexual fertilization is conjugation – it consists of 2

organisms and the exchange of micronuclear elements.

FERTILZATION

• N/A only one cell. • Mostly live and develop in aquatic environments (warm

water)• Feed off of dead decaying plant matter

• N/A single cell• Meiosis occurs in paramecium but no gametes are

formed
