Q: Is it true that Bob
Odenkirk was up for
the Steve Carell role in
The Office before he got
the role of Saul Good-
man on Breaking Bad?
—Patrick S., Orange, N.J.
He’s entertained us in the movies Quiz Show, Barton Fink, The Big Lebowski, Transformers, O Brother, Where Art Thou? and, most recently, Exodus: Gods and Kings. Now Turturro, 57, joins other notables—including singer Tony Bennett, U.S. Representative Nancy Pelosi and U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia—talking about their heritage in the four-hour documentary series The Italian Americans, premiering Tues., Feb. 17, on PBS.
Why is this show
important to
you? “I think the role of Italians in America hasn’t been well- documented because a lot of the people that came here weren’t that book-savvy, and there weren’t that many writers. If you don’t understand

A: Yes, it’s true, Odenkirk was being considered until Carell became available. “Steve did a wonderful job. I can’t imagine anyone else doing it,” Odenkirk says. But Odenkirk’s chance to be the star of a series has finally come with AMC’s Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad prequel that airs Monday nights. “I have confidence in the show, but I’m not spending money I haven’t made yet,” says the Illinois native, 52.
who you are and where you come from, it’s hard to understand your place now.”So many movies about Italians
feature the mafia. Is that a
consideration when you
take a role? “Years ago, I played some of those parts, but I’ve tried consciously not to do that so much now.”Do you prefer acting
in comedies or
dramas? “I really like things that are both, because I think life is both.”What do you love
about life right now?
“I’m working at home, so that’s good. My kids are doing well. I have a nice relationship with my wife. Those are the hard things to have—and to keep. I just wish the Knicks were doing better.”

Q: What were David Giuntoli’s favorite fairy tales growing up? Were they scary ones, like on Grimm?
—Jason R., Des Moines
A: The star of Grimm (Friday nights on NBC) wasn’t into fairy tales as a boy but enjoyed getting spooked. “I loved scary movies, but I had an almost James Joyce-like fear of God and the devil,” says Giuntoli, 34. “I happened to see The Exorcist when I was 8 years old. It destroyed me.”
Q: I am a fan of Sarah McLachlan. What does she have planned for 2015?
—Brent F, Salem, Ore.
A: The Canadian songstress, 47, kicks off her U.S. tour on Feb. 27 in San Antonio, Texas, in support of her latest CD, Shine On. “I love making re-cords, but I like playing live even better,” she says. “You’ve got the song, you know it’s great and you get to take it someplace else. You get to be in the moment with it. That’s everything to me.”

Before there was Fifty Shades
of Grey—the book or the
movie, which opened yes-
terday—back in the last
century, there was me, a
young girl in a rundown New
England mill town waiting for—
no! yearning for!—love. Like
young girls everywhere, I had no
idea what love was, or what it
would look like when it finally
arrived. So I created my vision of
love from books. And not just
any books, but the bodice rippers
that came into popularity right as
I turned old enough to get my
first bra.
Thanks to The Flame and the
Flower and Sweet Savage Love,
what I dreamed for in my all-
white bed at night was an older
guy, someone 16 or even 17,
someone brash and handsome
who would abduct me in my
wagon train or elegant carriage.
Since our family car was a Chevy
Impala, that felt especially excit-
ing. Love, I understood, was
blissful torture. We would be
thrown together and torn apart,
again and again, by interlopers
and grand plot twists until he
confessed something like Rose-
mary Rogers (the queen of his-
torical romance) wrote: “I find
that by some unfortunate chance
I continue to want you, you jade-
eyed sorceress.” I have green eyes!
I could be a jade-eyed sorceress!
Grand love stories of this sort
took place in exotic settings like
Ireland and Mexico instead of
towns like mine. Surely part of
the appeal was to transport me
to these places, to make me
imagine I lived in a world where
I, like Laura in Bound for Desire,
might need to send a cable to
Lady Honoria in Baden-Baden,
wherever Baden-Baden might
be. I considered changing my
name. How could someone with
the mundane, common name
Ann ever expect to star in an
epic love story?
One summer, I developed a
crush on a friend of my brother’s,
a college boy—an older man! He
did not arrive with a team of
horses, but in a white VW Bug.
Instead of a partially unbuttoned
poet’s shirt, he wore a pocket tee
and frayed jeans. Still, he whisked
me away to far off places, like the
beach with the big waves where
my parents refused to take me.
He tormented me too, by loving
a doe-eyed, age-appropriate girl
named Kathy, who had a bracelet
of tiny bells around her ankle,
which made her jingle as she
walked. How I hated that happy
sound. Such sweet torture that
summer as I waited for the egg-
beater sound of his VW ap-
proaching, and cried at night
over my jingling rival.
Eventually, the boy returned
to college. Eventually, I grew up.
I realize now that I read not just
to learn how to live, but to
remind myself to keep dreaming.
After all, who doesn’t want an
epic love story, a grand saga, an
adventure of the heart? As Fifty
Shades of Grey’s Anastasia Steele
tells us when she meets Chris-
tian: My face is aflame. Yes! My
heart pounds. Yes! I can’t breathe.
Yes! It’s intoxicating. Yes! Yes!
Yes! Isn’t this, in the end, love
after all?

MoneySAVING TOO MUCH— OR TOO LITTLE?
FEBRUARY 15, 2015 | 11
T he chances that an average American can retire well seem to be getting slimmer. But not everyone is average.
Some people may need to save more while others are already accruing a good-sized nest egg. Which one are you?
A rough, but fairly good indica-tor of how you’re doing is the size of your portfolio as it compares to your annual (pre-tax) income, according to T. Rowe Price’s Stuart Ritter, CFP.
The targets in the chart below assume that you’ll retire at 65, need about 75 percent of your pre-retirement income and that Social Security income will cover about a third of your expenditures.
If you’re close, you may be squeezing nickels where you don’t need to or tossing at night over imaginary money prob-lems. “I’d say that describes about 20 percent of the clients who walk through my door,” says Bob Gerstemeier, CFP, chair of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA).
But both Ritter and Gerste-meier agree that over-saving beats under-saving. “Foregoing some discretionary purchases today is a lot better than saving too little and having to forego ne-cessities tomorrow,” Ritter says.

Itchy Senior Skin’s Hidden Cause (Hint: It’s in Your Medicine Cabinet)
( + = , 9 ; 0 : , 4 , 5 ;
The older we get, the more our bodies
change, especially our skin. One of the
biggest changes: it itches more than ever.
“Itching is a common problem as we age,
says Vishakha Gigler, M.D., a dermatolo-
gist from Encinitas, CA. “The skin chang-
es, often becoming thinner, drier and more
susceptible to irritants.”
Biological changes are one thing, but
there is now strong evidence to support
the thinking that another factor is partly to
blame: prescription and non-prescription
medications. Dr. Gigler says, “I often see
seniors in my practice who are suffering
from itchy skin. Medical conditions and
certain medications can be an underlying
cause.”
Medications commonly prescribed to
senior citizens – including pain relievers,
blood pressure medications, sleep aids and
antibiotics – can often cause increases in
skin sensitivity and itch.
Many seniors seek relief from itch with
products containing corticosteroids like
hydrocortisone, which is a topical steroid,
but this can present another problem.
According to medical professionals,
steroidal creams like those containing
hydrocortisone carry their own side effects,
including thinned skin, allergic reactions
and more itching.
Fortunately, one of the best selling,
most-effective topical itch relievers is
steroid-free and safe for the whole family
to use: TriCalm® hydrogel. TriCalm is
a soothing, non-prescription gel that is
guaranteed to relieve itch.
TriCalm’s strong guarantee and
effectiveness are why dermatologists
throughout the country are recommending
TriCalm to their patients year round. In fact,
TriCalm has been proven to relieve itch
5-times better than hydrocortisone 1%.*

hours and require repeated applications to

immediately, providing rapid relief from
itch with a single application; and because
TriCalm is steroid-free, it is safe for the
whole family to use.
TriCalm is also backed by a 100%
Money-Back “Itch Free Guarantee,”
which promises the product will relieve
your itchy skin, or you can send back

Julianne Moore has a theory of why people are so touched by her film Still Alice. “It’s not just because it’s a disease movie,” she says of the fic-tional story of Dr. Alice Howland, a 50-year-old university linguistics professor and a mother of three who is struck with early-onset
Alzheimer’s disease. “It’s a movie about mortality and being,” she says. “It makes us really think about our lives. You’re never

“How Lucky Am I?”
Julianne Moore has done it again.
As she earns her fifth Oscar nomina-
tion and the spot as front runner for
Best Actress at next week’s awards
ceremony, the actress and mom is
solid proof that women in film are a
force to be reckoned with.
— By Amy Spencer —
“I’m always excited by really interesting narratives, and within a great narrative you can generally find a great character.”
—Julianne Moore
closer to loving life than when you’re closest to loss.”
And Moore is loving her life right now. e actress, 54, lives in New York City with her husband, director Bart Freun-dlich, who she’s been with for 19 years and married to for 10. ey have two kids, son Caleb, 17, and daughter Liv, 12. And home really is where her heart is. “Right before I met my husband, I always felt as if the party was happen-ing somewhere else,” she says. “Like, ‘Where is everybody else going?’ And once I met him and we had our children, I was like, ‘is is where the party is.’ ere’s nowhere else I want to be. I see a tremen-dous amount of purpose and a feeling of belonging.”
When Moore carries that sense of purpose to her work, Hollywood can’t help but sit up and take notice. For whether she’s meant to or not, Moore has become a truly positive representation of the 21st century woman. Not only is she a mom with a family and a five-time Oscar nominee (many predict she’ll take home her first statuette for Best Actress for her per-formance in Still Alice at next Sunday’s awards), she’s also carved out a strong niche for herself working in both

Could I Have Alzheimer’s at My Age?How to tell “typical” memory
loss from dementia.
It used to be that if you for-got a celebrity’s name, you’d Google it and move on. But with the Still Alice spotlight on early-onset Alzheimer’s, which strikes before age 65, every blanked word and mislaid phone can inspire nervous panic. Most midlife forgetfulness is, fortunately, just that. Here's a guide:
You can’t remember a name 10 seconds after you’re introducedDon’t worry. Names tend to hop right in and out of working memory, where immediate info is stored, when you’re not focusing or are meeting a lot of people. Also names are arbitrary words that are disconnected from meaning, making them harder to retain. More worrisome: Not remembering having been introduced. Alzheimer’s erodes the ability to form and retain new memories.
You lose your keysDon’t worry. We all mis-place stuff sometimes. (What helps: Put ‘em in the

takes home the ultimate prize, she’s helping the case for wom-en in film with every strong role she takes—because as more females show how wom-en can carry a film, Lawrence explains, “people are a little less afraid to make movies and have [women] be the stars and not supporting roles.”
For her part, Moore has four
more films coming out this year: Seventh Son, Freeheld, the second part of Mockingjay and Maggie’s Plan. And after great success with her chil-dren’s books—the Freckleface Strawberry series (based on her childhood nickname) and My Mom is a Foreigner (based on her mother, who was born in Scotland)—Moore has a five-book deal with Random House to write more Freckle-face Strawberry books, two of which are slated for release this summer. And she couldn’t feel happier for all that she has. “e family that I have,” she says. “e friends. e marriage. How lucky am I?”
She only hopes Still Alice affects viewers the same way it did her. “It’s uplifting,” she says. “We didn’t make it in the spirit of loss or diminishment. Really, it’s about what you love, who you value and how much you love being alive.”

Julianne Moore has a theory of why people are so touched by her filmStill Alice.

“She has it mapped out, she has a plan. She knows what she’s going to do, and she comes in, and she executes.”
—The Hunger Games: Mockingjay director
Francis Lawrence

Not only is she a mom with a family and a five-time Oscar nominee (many predict she’ll take home her first statuette for Best Actress for her per-formance in Still Alice at next Sunday’s awards), she’s also carved out a strong niche for herself working in both
mainstream and quality inde-pendent films that mean some-thing. Also, she doesn’t take her roles to prove a point. She does it, she says, because she loves to tell a good story.
“I’m always excited by really interesting narratives,” Moore says, “and within a great nar-rative you can generally find a great character.” She’s built those characters in roles rang-ing from the soap opera As the World Turns to critically acclaimed turns in the movies Boogie Nights, Far from Heaven, e Hours and e Kids Are All Right to comedic parts like the one she played on TV in 30 Rock opposite her Still Alice co-star Alec Baldwin.
Moore says her draw to fam-ily drama is probably due to her parents, who both worked in fields of human behavior. Her father, a former paratrooper (she was born on a military base in North Carolina), became a trial lawyer and judge. And her mother was a psychologist and social worker. “My mother was fascinated by behavior,” Moore says. “She talked about that stuff all the time. She was very interested in families.”
The Year of the Woman
T his year, Moore’s gut-wrenching performance in Still Alice is the latest example of why many consider her the poster
child for the best year for wom-en in Hollywood yet. And she’s not leading the charge all alone. Beside her this year was Reese Witherspoon, who produced Wild and Gone Girl, and earned her own Best Actress nomina-tion for starring in Wild; Ava

DuVernay, who directed Selma all the way to a Best Picture nomination, and a whole slew of other impres-sive females (see “Strong Women, Strong Roles,” left). When it comes to women, “it’s been a really good year,” says Francis Lawrence, who directed Moore in the two-part e Hunger Games: Mock-ingjay series and jumped at the chance to have her play President Alma Coin in the last installments of the series. “She’s a pro,” he says, with “fierce intelligence. She is so, so smart.”
She’s also one of the most hardworking actresses he’s worked with. “Julianne is very specific,” he says of how she approaches her work. “She has it mapped out, she has a plan. She knows what she’s going to do, and she comes in, and she

In addition to Julianne Moore’s star turns in Still Alice and the Hunger Games movies, many other women
are stirring things up in Hollywood, both in front of and behind the camera.
1 | Gone Girl's girl power: Gillian Flynn penned both the book and the screen-play for the suspenseful 2014 smash. Rosamund Pike got an Oscar nomina-tion for her portrayal of the “girl.”
2 | Ava DuVernay stood out as the only female director among Golden Globe nominees for her work on Selma, also nominated for a Best Picture Oscar.
3 | Reese Witherspoon is Oscar-nom-inated for her starring role in Wild, and she also had producing roles on Wild and Gone Girl.
4 | Angelina Jolie was magnifi-cent starring in Maleficent, and she directed Unbroken.
5 | Fifty Shades of Grey boasts a fe-male director (Sam Taylor-Johnson), screenwriter (Kelly Marcel) and author (E.L. James).
6 | The Hunger Games: Mockingjay fran-chise stars Jennifer Lawrence, Natalie Dormer and Julianne Moore.
7 | The upcoming live-action Cin-derella (Mar. 13) features a mostly female cast, led by Lily James, Helena Bonham Carter and Cate Blanchett.
8 | This summer, Scarlett Johansson will try to help save the world as Black Widow alongside the other Avengers in Avengers: Age of Ultron (May 1).
9 | Elizabeth Banks is at the helm of Pitch Perfect 2 (May 15), directing and acting alongside Anna Kendrick, Hailee Steinfeld, Brittany Snow and Rebel Wilson.
10 | Suffragette (Sept. 11), which tells the story of early feminists, has a female writer and director (Sarah Gavron) and a powerhouse cast, in-cluding Meryl Streep, Helena Bonham Carter and Carey Mulligan.

More than the sum of its parts, gumbo is a traditional
Mardi Gras (Feb. 17) indulgence. There’s little consensus over what goes into the signa-ture dish of New Orleans, except that the best gumbos are made at home. Lifetime Crescent City resident Poppy Tooker, who beat Bobby Flay in a gumbo throwdown, is writing a cookbook on New Orleans’ second-oldest restaurant, Tujague’s. Here, she shares her gumbo recipe, loaded with chicken, sausage and shellfish.
1. Pierce skin of fresh sausage and brown it in a large Dutch oven. Remove from pan. Let cool, slice into rings and set aside.
2. Brown smoked sausage in the fat remaining in the Dutch oven. Remove.
3. Sauté chicken in the same pan until lightly browned. Remove.
4. Add oil to fat in pan and heat until shimmering. Stir in flour (this is your roux). Cook, stirring constantly, until roux is a milk chocolate brown, 10 to 15 minutes (depending on how high the heat). Add onion and cook, stirring constantly until the roux darkens to a bitter-sweet chocolate color,
about 3 minutes. Add celery and bell pepper and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add chicken broth, thyme and bay leaves and bring mixture to a boil. 5. Return sausages and chicken to the pan and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook until thickened and fragrant, about 45 minutes.
6. Add green onions. Add shellfish. Cook until shrimp are pink and edges of oysters ruffle, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and hot sauce.
7. Remove from heat and stir in filé powder. Serve over rice. Serves 10 to 12.

Celery, bell pepper and

• BREO ELLIPTA is only approved for use in COPD. BREO is NOT approved for use in asthma.
• People with asthma who take long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) medicines, such as vilanterol (one of the medicines in BREO), have an increased risk of death from asthma problems. It is not known if LABA medicines increase the risk of death in people with COPD.
• Call your healthcare provider if breathing problems worsen over time while using BREO.
• Get emergency medical care if your breathing problems worsen quickly, or if you use your rescue inhaler but it does not relieve your breathing problems.
• Do not use BREO to treat sudden symptoms of COPD. Always have a rescue inhaler with you to treat sudden symptoms.
• BREO is not for the treatment of asthma. It is not known if BREO is safe and effective in people with asthma.
• Do not use BREO if you have severe allergy to milk proteins or any of the ingredients in BREO. Ask your healthcare provider if you are not sure.
• Do not use BREO more often than prescribed. • Do not take BREO with other medicines that contain a LABA for any reason.
Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take and about all of your health conditions.
• BREO can cause serious side effects, including: – pneumonia. People with COPD have a higher chance of getting pneumonia. BREO
may increase the chance of getting pneumonia. Call your healthcare provider if you notice any of the following symptoms: increase in mucus (sputum) production; change in mucus color; fever; chills; increased cough; increased breathing problems
– thrush (fungal infection) in mouth and/or throat. You may develop a yeast infection ( ) in your mouth or throat. Rinse your mouth with water without swallowing after use to help prevent thrush in your mouth and throat.
– serious allergic reactions. Call your healthcare provider or get emergency medical care if you get any of the following symptoms of a serious allergic reaction: rash; hives; swelling of the face, mouth, and tongue; breathing problems
– sudden breathing problems immediately after inhaling your medicine – effects on heart: increased blood pressure; a fast and/or irregular
heartbeat; chest pain – effects on nervous system: tremor; nervousness
– reduced adrenal function. This can happen when you stop taking an oral corticosteroid (such as prednisone) and start taking a medicine containing an inhaled corticosteroid (such as BREO). Symptoms include: feeling tired; lack of energy; weakness; nausea and vomiting; low blood pressure.
– changes in laboratory blood values (sugar, potassium) – weakened immune system and increased chance of getting infections
(immunosuppression). You should avoid exposure to chickenpox and measles, and, if exposed, consult your healthcare provider without delay. Worsening of existing tuberculosis, fungal, bacterial, viral, or parasitic infections, or herpes infection of the eye (ocular herpes simplex) may occur.
– bone thinning or weakness (osteoporosis) – eye problems including glaucoma and cataracts. You should have regular eye
exams while using BREO.• Common side effects of BREO include:
– runny nose and sore throat– upper respiratory tract infection– headache– thrush in mouth and/or throat. Rinse your mouth without swallowing after use to
help prevent this
You are encouraged to report negative side effects of prescription drugs to the FDA. Visit www.fda.gov/medwatch, or call 1-800-FDA-1088.
*Restrictions apply. See myBREO.com for eligibility rules.
Please see Brief Summary of Prescribing Information for BREO ELLIPTA on adjacent pages.
BREO ELLIPTA can help improve your breathing.
• Once-daily BREO helps increase airfl ow from the lungs for a full 24 hours. Your results may vary.
• In patients with a history of COPD fl are-ups, BREO helps reduce the risk of future fl are-ups. This is when symptoms are worse for several days and require steroids (oral or injectable), antibiotics, and/or a hospital stay. BREO is not for use to treat sudden symptoms of COPD and won’t replace a rescue inhaler.
Talk to your doctor about BREO, and visit myBREO.com to get your fi rst full prescription free.*
(COPD is Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) APPROVED USESBREO ELLIPTA is approved for adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis, emphysema, or both. BREO ELLIPTA is a prescription medicine that is used long term as 1 inhalation 1 time each day to improve symptoms of COPD for better breathing and to reduce the number of fl are-ups (the worsening of your COPD symptoms for several days). BREO is not for use to treat sudden symptoms of COPD and won’t replace a rescue inhaler. BREO is not for the treatment of asthma.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
© PARADE Publications 2015. All rights reserved.
Read the Medication Guide that comes with BREO ELLIPTA (BREE-oh-ee-LIP-ta ) before you start using it and each time you get a refll. There may be new information. This summary does not take the place of talking to your healthcare provider about your medical condition or treatment.
What is the most important informationI should know about BREO ELLIPTA?
BREO ELLIPTA is only approved for use in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). BREO ELLIPTA is NOT approved for use in asthma.BREO ELLIPTA can cause serious side effects, including:• People with asthma who take long-acting
beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) medicines, such as vilanterol (one of the medicines in BREO ELLIPTA), have an increased risk of death from asthma problems. It is not known whether fluticasone furoate, the other medicine in BREO ELLIPTA, reduces the risk of death from asthma problems seen with LABA medicines.
• It is not known if LABA medicines, such as vilanterol (one of the medicines in BREO ELLIPTA), increase the risk of death in people with COPD.
• Call your healthcare provider if breathing problems worsen over time while using BREO ELLIPTA. You may need different treatment.
• Get emergency medical care if:• your breathing problems worsen quickly • you use your rescue inhaler, but it does not relieve
your breathing problems.
What is BREO ELLIPTA?
BREO ELLIPTA combines an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) medicine, futicasone furoate, and a LABA medicine, vilanterol.• ICS medicines, such as futicasone furoate (one of
the medicines in BREO ELLIPTA), help to decrease infammation in the lungs. Infammation in the lungs can lead to breathing problems.
• LABA medicines, such as vilanterol (one of the medicines in BREO ELLIPTA), help the muscles around the airways in your lungs stay relaxed to prevent symptoms such as wheezing, cough, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. These symptoms can happen when the muscles around the airways tighten. This makes it hard to breathe.
BREO ELLIPTA is used for COPD. COPD is a chronic lung disease that includes chronic bronchitis, emphysema, or both. BREO ELLIPTA is a prescription medicine that is used long term as 1 inhalation 1 time each day to improve symptoms of COPD for better breathing and to reduce the number of fare-ups (the worsening of your COPD symptoms for several days).
• BREO ELLIPTA is not for use to treat sudden symptoms of COPD. Always have a rescue inhaler (an inhaled, short-acting bronchodilator) with you to treat sudden symptoms. If you do not have a rescue inhaler, contact your healthcare provider to have one prescribed for you.
• BREO ELLIPTA is not for the treatment of asthma. It is not known if BREO ELLIPTA is safe and effective in people with asthma.
• BREO ELLIPTA should not be used in children. It is not known if BREO ELLIPTA is safe and effective in children.
Who should not use BREO ELLIPTA?
Do not use BREO ELLIPTA if you:• have a severe allergy to milk proteins. Ask your
healthcare provider if you are not sure.• are allergic to futicasone furoate, vilanterol, or any
of the ingredients in BREO ELLIPTA. See “What are the ingredients in BREO ELLIPTA?” below for a complete list of ingredients.
What should I tell my healthcare providerbefore using BREO ELLIPTA?
Tell your healthcare provider about all of your health conditions, including if you:• have heart problems• have high blood pressure• have seizures• have thyroid problems• have diabetes• have liver problems• have weak bones (osteoporosis)• have an immune system problem• have eye problems such as glaucoma or cataracts • are allergic to any of the ingredients in BREO
ELLIPTA, any other medicines, or food products. See “What are the ingredients in BREO ELLIPTA?” below for a complete list of ingredients.
• have any type of viral, bacterial, or fungal infection• are exposed to chickenpox or measles or have been
around anyone who has chickenpox or measles• have any other medical conditions• are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
It is not known if BREO ELLIPTA may harm your unborn baby.
• are breastfeeding. It is not known if the medicines in BREO ELLIPTA pass into your milk and if they can harm your baby.
Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. BREO ELLIPTA and certain other medicines may interact with each other. This may cause serious side effects. Especially, tell your healthcare provider if you take antifungal or anti-HIV medicines. Know the medicines you take. Keep a list of them to show your healthcare provider and pharmacist when you get a new medicine.
How should I use BREO ELLIPTA?Read the step-by-step instructions for using BREO ELLIPTA in the Medication Guide. • Do not use BREO ELLIPTA unless your healthcare
provider has taught you how to use the inhaler and you understand how to use it correctly.
• Use BREO ELLIPTA exactly as prescribed. Do not use BREO ELLIPTA more often than prescribed.
• Use 1 inhalation of BREO ELLIPTA 1 time each day. Use BREO ELLIPTA at the same time each day.
• If you miss a dose of BREO ELLIPTA, take it as soon as you remember. Do not take more than 1 inhalation per day. Take your next dose at your usual time. Do not take 2 doses at one time.
• If you take too much BREO ELLIPTA, call your healthcare provider and get medical help right away if you have any unusual symptoms, such as worsening shortness of breath, chest pain, increased heart rate, or shakiness.
• Do not use other medicines that contain a LABA for any reason. Ask your healthcare provider or pharmacist if any of your other medicines are LABA medicines.
• Do not stop using BREO ELLIPTA unless told to do so by your healthcare provider because your symptoms might get worse. Your healthcare provider will change your medicines as needed.
• BREO ELLIPTA does not relieve sudden symptoms. Always have a rescue inhaler with you to treat sudden symptoms. If you do not have a rescue inhaler, call your healthcare provider to have one prescribed for you.
• Call your healthcare provider or get medical care right away if:• your breathing problems get worse• you need to use your rescue inhaler more often
than usual• your rescue inhaler does not work as well
to relieve your symptoms• you need to use 4 or more inhalations of your
rescue inhaler in 24 hours for 2 or more days in a row
• you use 1 whole canister of your rescue inhaler in 8 weeks
What are the possible side effects withBREO ELLIPTA?
BREO ELLIPTA can cause serious side effects, including:• See “What is the most important information

Ask MarilynBy Marilyn vos Savant
Is there any connection between handedness and the side on which one parts his or her hair? I am right-handed, but I recall a conversation many years ago between my parents (both deceased) that indicated I was left-handed at birth. I never thought much about it, but I do notice that I part my hair on the opposite side of most of my friends.
—S.R., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho
More than 90 percent of right-handers have hair whorls that rotate clockwise, making it natural for them to part their hair on the left and comb the top to the right. Some may choose to part their hair on the other side for aesthetic reasons, such as enhancing a preferred side of the face, but their hair will not lay that way as easily. On non-right-handers (lefties and people who use both hands for many tasks), the whorls rotate in either direction with roughly equal likelihood. So if most of your friends part their hair on the left (natural for righties, who are in the majority), and you part your hair on the right, this is an indication—coupled with the talk you remember—that you may be a converted non-right-hander.
