PROPhETIC ANOINTINGThe solemnity of today’s readings invites us into silent

contemplation of the mystery of our redemption. There are so many levels on which to understand the events of the Passion. The woman who anoints Jesus acts prophetically in a way that the other disciples do not yet grasp. Anointing is for priests, prophets, and kings, and also for the preparation of the dead. It is for healing and for holiness. Her action acknowledges the imminent events of the passion and death of the Lord, and points toward his resurrection and triumph over evil and death. He is priest and victim, prophet and God, King and Lord. All these things are acknowledged in her prophetic anointing.

La mujer que unge a Jesús se comporta proféticamente y de un modo que los otros discípulos aún no comprenden. La unción es para los sacerdotes, los profetas y los reyes, y también para la preparación de los muertos. Es para la sanación y la santidad. Su acción reconoce los sucesos de la pasión y la muerte del Señor que se avecinan, y señala hacia la resurrección y el triunfo sobre el mal y la muerte. sACRAMENT OF PENANCE.There will be the celebration of individual sacrament of penance (Confession) with the priest on Tuesday March 31 at 8:45 a.m. and at 5:00 p.m., on Wednesday April 1 at 8:45 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., on Thursday April 2 at 8:45 a.m. ThE sACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION.This year we will have two confirmation celebrations. They will be held on Saturday April 18th, 2015 beginning at 4:30 p.m. and also on Saturday May 2nd beginning at 4:30 p.m. Those coming to Saturday 5:00 p.m. Sunday vigil Mass on these two dates should come at 4:30 p.m. or at any other Sunday Mass. 2015 ANNuAL FIEsTA.This year we will have our annual fiesta during the weekend of May 29th, 30th and 31st. sChEduLE OF ThE hOLy WEEKsunday March 29: Palm sundayThere will be the blessing of palms outside 10 minutes before each scheduled Mass. The Mass schedule will be the same as at the other Sundays. Connection to the parish conference center will be provided for those who cannot be accommodated within the church. At all Spanish Masses there will be the live representation of the Gospel, regarding the passion and death of Jesus.Thursday April 2: The Last supperThere will be a bilingual Mass at 7:00 p.m. in memory of the Last Supper. During this special Mass there will be the washing of the feet and at its conclusion the procession to the altar of reposition. There will follow the adoration of the Eucharist until 11:00 p.m.

Friday April 3: Good FridayThere will be the Stations of the Cross in English at 12:00 noon, followed by the Good Friday liturgical service in English at 2:00 p.m. At 5:00 p.m. there will be the live representation of the Stations of the Cross in Spanish in the church parking lot. At 6:00 p.m. there will be the Good Friday Liturgical Service in Spanish.

saturday April 4: holy saturdayThere will be the blessing of domestic animals, religious articles and means of transportation (cars, vans, trucks, etc.) At 11:00 a.m. At 7:15 p.m. will begin the liturgical Easter Vigil Service with the blessing of Easter fire and candle outside by the gathering plaza. The Vigil Service will conclude with the Mass of Easter.

sunday April 5: Easter sundayThere will be the same schedule of Masses of every Sunday, except that there will be NO English Mass at 5:00 p.m. Connection to the conference center will be provided for the benefit of those who cannot be accommodated within the church.
