Thailand’s culinary heritage is steeped in tradition, making it quite distinctive. The country is blessed with an abundant amount of food found in the seas and fields of Thailand. This offers ample opportunity for an adventurous cook to use his or her creativity

and resourcefullness in cooking a variety of nutritious and delicious dishes.

What makes Thai food so unique is the principle that every meal should be balanced in terms of flavors. Each meal should

contain an element of spiciness, sourness, sweetness, and bitterness in order for it to be truly “complete”. This balanced way of creating a meal leads to a truly special taste that is difficult

to match in any other culture.

In 1991 the original restaurant, Siam House, served Tuscaloosa an authentic taste of Thai cuisine for 11 years.

Siam House became Ruan Thai in 2006 and moved to its current location in the little brown house at the end of the Strip. At Ruan Thai, chef/owner

Sasiwan “Alp” Yeager has designed a menu intended to give you a true experience of all that Thai

cuisine has to offer. Everything is made fresh in our kitchen just like it would be made in a Thai home. So try a cold glass of sweet Thai Iced Tea or Thai Coffee and be a little

adventurous when choosing your meal.

For those of you who have been loyal customers for years, you may notice that we have expanded our menu to offer you even more authentic and delicious Thai meals. We encourage you to step outside of your old favorites and sample one of our
