As 2014-2015 President of the National Exchange Club Foundation, it is my privilege to share the progress your Foundation has made over the past year. Your continued support of the NEC Foundation’s mission of providing resources to support the National Exchange Club and its Programs of Service and national project – Child Abuse Prevention – is highlighted in this Annual Report.

The NEC Foundation continues to investigate the possibilities for finding the resources needed to advance our cause – and with your help, we can make it happen! The Annual Report provides an overview of our year and finances, and we hope you find it informative and enlightening.

Katherine Moore 2015 Accepting The Challenge of Excellence winner

Annual support went to the Programs of Service in the various Americanism, Community Service and Youth projects, including the Youth of the Year Award and the Accepting the Challenge of Excellence (A.C.E.) Award.

Because of your continued support, the NEC Foundation is able to help America’s youth through college scholarships to the National Youth of the Year and the A.C.E. programs. Without your generous support, services such as these would not be possible.

The NEC Foundation provided funding to numerous programs during the year. The biggest single program is $76,000 of support to the 32nd Annual Symposium held in Columbus, Ohio.

These scholarships allowed Child Abuse Prevention Center staff and board members to attend this convention and symposium. This year a total of 54 were in attendance.

The Grand Prize of $12,600 was presented to this year’s winner, Gerald Thompson, from the Networking Exchange

Club of Salem/Keizer, OR.

Jerry and his wife Susan generously donated the Grand Prize winnings of $9,475 (after taxes)

to the NEC Foundation!

The Early Bird prize of $1,000 was won by Sally Harvey!

The MegaRaffle provided $2,550 in rebates from the sale of tickets to local Exchange Clubs.

Because of generous donors like you, the Annual Campaign, Memorial and Tribute gifts, the Campaign for Kids, and the Ocean Campaign, generated $63,721.

The Berkey Fellowship, which now has 252 members, raised an additional $89,000 for the year. We thank those who have contributed to an endowment that supports Exchange’s Programs of Service now and will provide a sound financial future. The NEC Foundation continues to assist Exchange Clubs by offering the “no fee” Passthrough Grant program. Many clubs and their local donors have been able to take advantage of the Foundation’s ability to provide this benefit to maximize their donor’s tax advantage. Thanks to all our members and contributors, the Foundation received and awarded $98,473 in Passthrough Grants for 2014-2015, to 36 clubs and two districts.

The National Exchange Club Foundation continues to offer an income producing benefit for donors through Gift Annuities. This allows donors to make a charitable gift, while earning an income stream for life. The Gift Annuity calculator is available on the NEC Foundation website.

We continue to promote the importance of the Heritage Society and forms of planned giving to benefit and sustain Exchange well into the future.
