Dispensation

All the faithful of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe continue to be dispensed from the obligation to attend Mass

on Sundays and holy days of obligation until further notice.

Restrictions

Occupancy is strictly limited to 25% seating capacity with social distancing of at least six feet. Families and

members of the same household are exempt from these six-foot distancing requirements.

Health & Safety

It is required that those attending Mass will wear a face mask. Please bring your own masks. It is also re-quired that those attending Mass will disinfect their hands before entering the Church. There remains an in-

herent risk in coming to Church at this time. If you or those for whom you care are vulnerable to infection we ask that you stay home. If you feel sick in any way, please stay home.

Help Needed

We need help with sanitizing the pews and restrooms after Mass. We also need help with taking down

names and phone numbers for contact tracing. You can sign up to help at www.holyrosaryabq.org. or call Barbara at the parish office at 505-836-5011.

Why do we pray in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament? Praying in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament extends the benefits of grace received at Mass. When we pray in the presence of the Sacrament, we continue to contemplate Christ’s Paschal Mystery. We also recognize our own participation in the Paschal Mystery; that is, how we die to ourselves so that we may be imitators of Christ.

Holy Hour Prayer Suggestions St. Peter Julian Eymard, Apostle of the Eucharist, recommended a time of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament whereby each 15 minutes would be devoted to a particular style of prayer:

• ADORATION ~ Jesus, I praise the wonders of your love, the beauty of creation, the light of your truth.

• THANKSGIVING ~ Jesus, I thank you for the abundant blessings from your hands that provide all I need.

• FORGIVENESS ~ Jesus, I am sorry for the times I have fallen short in loving you by not loving others.

• INTERCESSION/PETITION ~ Lord, I pray for our church and world, my own needs and those of others; and I pray especially for…

¿Por qué oramos en presencia del Santísimo Sacramento? La presencia del Santísimo Sacramento extiende los beneficios de la gracia recibida en la misa. Cuando oramos en presencia del Sacramento, continuamos contemplando el misterio pascual de Cristo. A SAME AND DIFFERENT ASH WEDNESDAY IN 2021.

We have had a year filled with different ways of living

and praying. There are fewer people in church. No

water in the font. Less singing. Communion only in

the hand. No coffee and doughnuts on the way

home. Yet we still pray. Instead of giving ashes as a

cross on the forehead -- unsafe in this Covid time --

we can still receive them by sprinkling on the top of

the head (permitted by our ritual rules). We will look

a little cleaner. We can still repent, and believe in the

Gospel. We will still bear ashes home to begin our

Lenten practices.

UN MISMO Y DIFERENTE MIÉRCOLES DE CENIZA DE 2021.

Hemos tenido un año lleno de diferentes formas de

vivir y orar. Hay menos gente en la iglesia. No hay

agua bendita en la fuente. Menos cantos. Comunión

solo en la mano. No hay café ni donas en el camino a

casa. Sin embargo, todavía oramos. En lugar de dar

cenizas en forma de cruz en la frente, algo inseguro

en este tiempo de Covid, aún podemos recibirlas

rociándolas en la parte superior de la cabeza

(permitido por nuestras reglas rituales). Nos veremos

un poco más limpios. Todavía podemos arrepentirnos

y creer en el Evangelio. Todavía llevaremos cenizas a

casa para comenzar nuestras prácticas de Cuaresma.

The ashes used on Ash Wednesday are made from the

burning of palms blessed in the previous year’s Palm

Sunday celebration. Bring your palms to the parish

office before February 14 so they can be burned in

preparation for Ash Wednesday.
