Nursing Admission

A select group of high school students are GUARANTEED admission into the Nursing Program:

– High School GPA of 3.5 or higher– ACT composite score of 24 or higher

Freshman Year Students complete one

year of pre-nursing & then submit application to Nursing courses

English, Chemistry, Psychology, Anatomy & Physiology at a “C” level or above required

Minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4 point scale) required

Non-Guaranteed: compete for remaining spaces in classMicrobiology

BSN Highlights Lectures in large group;

on-campus skill laboratories & off-campus clinical experiences in groups of 6-10

Nursing clinical placements begin sophomore year & continue until graduation

Diverse clinical sites throughout Central Ohio

Note on Test-Taking

Test-taking: Must be able to test well on multiple choice exams– Difficulty with ACT/SAT standardized exams

indicates weakness in this area– Nursing tests are in this format to prepare for

Nursing Board Exam– Identify students with a “gap” between GPA & test

scores – need to repair this prior to entering a nursing progam!
