    OTN System

An Optical Transport Network (OTN) is composed of a set of Optical Network

Elements connected by optical fiber links, able to provide functionality of transport,

multiplexing, routing, management, supervision and survivability of client

signals, according to the requirements given in Rec. ITU-T G.872 and Rec. ITU-T

G.8080. The Rec. ITU-T G.709 describes the Interfaces for the optical transport

    Current SDH/ETHERNET + P2P DWDM becomes rigid

Time-to-service for medium level services (STM16 and GE)

    is very high.

Need of a more flexible and reliable network using existing

    resources

OTN switching network composed by 38 distributed Nodes.

ASON over OTN provide high reliability and fast provisioning.

Existing DWDM links from different venders used as

    transport layer.
