Workplace Safety & Prevention Services (WSPS) is now the health and safety

provider for the agriculture industry sector including tree fruit and fresh grape farms.

Through the Ontario Farm Innovation Program the Ontario Tender Fruit, Apple and

Fresh Grape Growers partnered with WSPS to assist growers to build health and

safety into their operations. On-farm hazard assessments were performed and

a Worker Health and Safety Program for Members has been created including

operational policies, procedures, checklists, templates and safe operating

procedures (SOPs) for identified hazards.

Step 1: Getting Started on SafetyNeed to get started? The “Getting Started on Safety” roadmap is included in this

mail out please take the time to review.

Health and Safety Awareness TrainingHealth and safety awareness training for every worker and supervisor became

mandatory on July 1st, 2014. This is a one-time training program; employers are

required to ensure their workers have received this training. The training tools are

designed to help employers assess their own training programs, test worker and

supervisor knowledge of basic workplace health and safety, and keep records of

training.
