Paine was in Korea in t h e army abou t 1951 and 1952 and made

a trip to Europe a f t e r he go t ou t a coup le o f ye a r s later. The

Minox camera t h a t FBI a ge n t s took from P a i n e ' s house which was

h i s w i t h o u t a doubt) was manuf ac tu r ed be tween 1949 and 1951

accord ing to t he Minox Corp . So P a ine , who bought it second hand ,

p r o b a b l y d i d n ' t have it when he was in t he army and p o s s i b l y not

when he made t he t r i p to Europe .
